*After looking into this further, I have had a change of heart. I was taught things about original that did not align with what I knew to be true. Here is what I found, pray and fast and I am sure the Lord will confirm it to you if you seek his face on the matter! In this deep-dive Bible study, Noah Taylor explores the doctrine of Original Sin, comparing the teachings of Western Christianity, Eastern Orthodoxy, and Judaism through scripture, prayer, and personal testimony. Augustine of Hippo systematized this teaching in the 4th–5th century, drawing heavily from Romans 5 and Psalm 51. Eastern Orthodox View (Ancestral Sin) Eastern Orthodoxy generally teaches that humanity inherits mortality, corruption, and the consequences of Adam’s fall, but not inherited guilt itself. Humans are born into a corrupted world and require salvation, healing, and union with Christ. Jewish Perspective Mainstream Judaism traditionally rejects inherited guilt. Humans are viewed as born with both the inclination toward good (yetzer hatov) and evil (yetzer hara), while each individual remains morally responsible for their own actions and sins.
