For the past four years, we have featured conversations with experts on current research topics in the ETH podcast. At the moment the podcast is taking an indefinite break. Until we launch a new podcast format, 43 exciting episodes are available for you to listen to. The alumni podcast "We Are ETH", a podcast series featuring stories from alumni and friends of ETH Zurich moved to its own channel: https://circle.ethz.ch/podcast/ -- ETH Zurich – Where the future begins! Our university for science and technology dates back to the year 1855, when the founders of modern-day Switzerland created it as a centre of innovation and knowledge. At ETH Zurich, students discover an ideal environment for independent thinking, researchers a climate which inspires top performance. Situated in the heart of Europe, yet forging connections all over the world, ETH Zurich is pioneering effective solutions to the global challenges of today and tomorrow. ETH Zurich has an excellent reputation in scientific circles: 21 Nobel laureates have studied, taught or researched here, and ETH regularly ranks as one of the world’s top universities.

How ETH has shaped my life ETH Podcast is going on a creative break and will reappear with a new concept next year. Time for host and co-producer Jennifer Khakshouri from Audiobande to look back and revisit two of her first podcast guests: Agnieszka Rozniak and Hanno Kappen. What do the former students do today? How did their time at ETH shape them, what have they learned for life when they look back, and what advice would they give to young ETH students? Please read more about Swissloop [https://swissloop.ch/] and the InCube [https://incubechallenge.com/] challenge here. In this ETH Podcast, Renato Zenobi and Bettina Streckenbach, both of whom are involved in this project, talk to host Jennifer Khakshouri about breath analysis and what it takes to revolutionise medical diagnostics. episode Anette Freytag artwork
Anette Freytag

Folge 9 Anette Freytag, a Landscape Historian currently at Rutgers University and formerly with ETH Zurich, explains why landscape architecture is not only a discipline but an attitude and a way of life. Anette Freytag combines art and gardens in her study of Landscape Architecture, Theory, History, and Design, whilst seeking ways to give back to the local community. An example is the March to Rutgers Gardens by the AIR Collaborative, of which we play a clip in the episode. A choreographed 2-mile hike, it was a walking campaign to highlight the need to access green spaces on foot or by bike. When Anette remembers ETH Zurich, she cites as one of her highlights receiving the ETH Medal awarded for outstanding scientific research from Heidi Wunderlich, who was the first female Rector of ETH. This is her story. https://circle.ethz.ch/podcast/ [https://circle.ethz.ch/podcast/]
