We all have struggles in life. We have barriers placed in front of us that as humans we are challenged to handle. Those struggles may include failing a test, getting a divorce, losing a job, missing a flight, or maybe business deal that didn’t go through. These all suck. But the real question here is, “How do you handle it?”. Do you fall apart, pout, complain or get back up again? And then, how do you handle the next issue the universe places in front of you. Well, this episode will certainly help you put life challenges in perspective. My guest and life-long friend today is a two- time liver transplant recipient. She has lived with a liver disease most of her life, and back in 2015 we came to the brink of losing her. Hear her story of resilience, determination, and the importance of organ donation.

Since the Ku Klux Klan first formed in 1865, white supremacist groups in the United States have propagated racism, hatred, and violence. Their extremist ideologies persist in the United States today. According to Statista in 2020, approximately 838 of them are in existence. Those who join such groups differ in backgrounds, families, education level and socioeconomic status. Regardless of upbringing and history, most of these individuals who join seek a sense of belonging and purpose. Therefore, fighting for the same cause. Yet, what if these individuals find they want to leave such a group? How do they find forgiveness from others and also learn to forgive themselves? My guest in this episode, Arno Michaelis, left a white nationalist group 20 years ago through education, forgiveness and human connection. His story will fascinate you, frustrate you and show you that growth and finding and peace is possible.

This year, again in the month of October, Domestic Violence Awareness month, I’ve decided to interview yet another survivor – who happens to be a dear friend of mine here in Dallas, TX. I’m choosing to help her get her story out as it must be heard….. not only because of her patterns and past, but because of the rise in domestic violence today. In the last 18 months, not surprisingly, domestic violence rates have increased, which is why it is important for us to continue to have this conversation and empower those who need a voice.

Today’s episode isn’t a traditional GTFO story. It’s not about getting the eff out of something. Yet it is a topic that needs awareness and visibility. It is based the current rights of a single father in the state of Texas. In this episode hear Alejandro Arrieta tell his personal story of fighting for rights to his child and in the meantime becoming a voice and advocate for other fathers who want to do the same.

We are in a place now where are forced to reinvent, adapt, and get creative with our careers and futures. But how do you do those things? My guest today has done each of them…he has reinvented, adapted and most certainly gotten creative throughout his career and current life. His GTFO moments have led and guided him into his most significant accomplishment…self- aligned business ownership. He is the CEO of Bryan Caplan Marketing, and is now doing business his way and on his own terms
