I’d love to hear from you. [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2515893/fan_mail/new] Do you already have God’s favor… or are you still trying to maintain it?  If grace is a gift, why does it still feel like performance?  This episode uncovers the truth about God’s favor and the freedom found in Jesus’ finished work. In Episode 41 of Grace Uncensored, Billy McDonald tackles one of the most common yet subtle tensions in modern Christianity—being told you have God’s favor, while still feeling pressure to earn or keep it. This message brings clarity to what Scripture actually says about your standing with God and why so many believers feel stuck in a cycle of striving. God’s favor is not something you earn, maintain, or lose—it is something freely given to you in Christ. Through Jesus, you have been fully forgiven, completely accepted, and permanently united with Him. When that truth becomes real to you, everything changes. This episode will help you:  Understand what God’s favor really means under the New Covenant  Break free from performance-based thinking  Separate your feelings from your identity in Christ  Live from acceptance instead of striving for it If you’ve ever felt like you’re “almost there” with God but never quite measuring up, this episode will help you rest in what’s already finished. 📍 Watch more episodes, get the FREE weekly devotional, and support the message:  https://GraceUncensored.org [https://graceuncensored.org/] 👍 If this encouraged you, subscribe, like, and share with someone who needs to hear this. My Story… Part 1: Jesus Was Simple… Religion Made Him Complicated

I’d love to hear from you. [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2515893/fan_mail/new] What if the message of grace I've been sharing didn't begin in 2025 at all?  In this personal episode, Billy McDonald shares the early experiences that shaped his understanding of God, grace, and the finished work of Jesus Christ.  From childhood memories to teenage struggles, this is the beginning of the story behind Grace Uncensored.  After almost a year of teaching about grace, I thought it was time to tell you where this journey began. In Part 1 of my story, I share memories from growing up in a Christian home, coming to faith as a young teenager, struggling to fit in during high school, and one unforgettable moment with my father that became one of the clearest pictures of grace I've ever experienced. Sometimes the deepest truths aren't learned in a classroom. Sometimes they're learned in a backyard throwing horseshoes with your dad. This episode also introduces the people God used during the summer of 1970 to begin changing the direction of my life. If you've ever wondered where Grace Uncensored came from, this is where the story begins. Scriptures Referenced Romans 5:8 "While we were still sinners, Christ died for us." God moved toward us before we cleaned ourselves up. Grace begins with His initiative, not our performance. General Gospel References Jesus died for us and invites us to trust Him. Billy reflects on his early faith in Christ and his growing understanding that salvation is found in Jesus, not in trying harder. Led by the Spirit… Or Just Trying Harder?

I’d love to hear from you. [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2515893/fan_mail/new] What does it really mean to be led by the Holy Spirit?  Can Christians lose God's guidance when they fail?  Discover the freedom of Spirit-led living under the New Covenant. In Episode 49 of Grace Uncensored, Billy McDonald explores one of the most misunderstood phrases in Christianity: "Be led by the Spirit." Many believers live with fear, uncertainty, and the pressure of trying to hear God correctly. But what if being led by the Spirit isn't about chasing feelings, signs, or impressions? What if it's about learning to trust the God who already lives within you? Discover why Spirit-led living is not reserved for super-Christians, why believers don't lose God's guidance when they stumble, and why the Holy Spirit is far more committed to leading you than you are to following Him. Help more people discover the freedom of grace  • Catch up on past Episodes SCRIPTURES QUOTED AND REFERENCED Romans 8:14 "For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God." Paul reminds believers that Spirit-led living is normal Christianity. Every child of God is indwelt and led by the Spirit. Romans 8:9 "And if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, they do not belong to Christ." Every believer possesses the Holy Spirit. There are no second-class Christians. Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me…" The Christian life is Christ living His life through us from within. 2 Corinthians 13:5 "Do you not realize that Christ Jesus is in you…?" Paul's test for believers centers on Christ living in them, not on performance. 2 Peter 1:3 "His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life…" Believers already possess everything necessary for life and godliness in Christ. Galatians 5:18 "But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law." Spirit-led living is completely different from law-based living. John 16:13 "When he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth." The Holy Spirit leads believers through truth, not fear or confusion. 2 Timothy 1:7 "For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid…" Fear is not the Spirit's signature. He produces power, love, and sound thinking. Colossians 2:13 "He forgave us all our sins." Jesus' finished work brought complete forgiveness. Hebrews 10:14 "For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy." Christ's once-for-all sacrifice permanently secured believers. 2 Corinthians 5:18-19 God reconciled us to Himself through Christ.  Believers do not need to regain reconciliation because God already accomplished it. Romans 8:1 "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Believers live free from condemnation because of their union with Christ. Matthew 11:28 "Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest." Jesus offers rest to weary believers, not pressure and performance. Philippians 2:13 "For it is God who works in you to will and to act according to his good purpose." God works from within believers, producing both desire and action. Galatians 5:22-23 "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…" The evidence of Spirit-life is fruit, not fear or striving. Thank you for watching and for sharing these episodes with others. Mostly Dead… Or Crucified With Christ?

I’d love to hear from you. [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2515893/fan_mail/new] That old you isn’t mostly dead.  Your old self was crucified with Christ.  So why are Christians still being told they have a sinful nature? In Episode 48 of Grace Uncensored, Billy McDonald exposes the Christian double talk that says believers are new in Christ, but still spiritually corrupt at the core. Romans 6 says your old self was crucified with Christ so you would no longer be a slave to sin. Your struggle may be real. Your temptation may be real. Your flesh patterns may be real. But that does not mean your old self is still alive. This episode explains the difference between sin’s influence and your identity, between flesh patterns and your new self, and between religious shame and New Covenant freedom. Romans 6:11 Believers are called to count themselves dead to sin and alive to God in Christ Jesus. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Anyone in Christ is a new creation. The old has gone, and the new is here. Romans 7:17 Paul distinguishes the new “I” from sin’s influence, showing that sin is not the believer’s true identity. Romans 8:5–6 The mind governed by the flesh experiences death, but the mind governed by the Spirit experiences life and peace. Romans 8:9 Believers are not in the realm of the flesh but in the realm of the Spirit because the Spirit of God lives in them. Titus 2:11–12 Grace trains us to say no to ungodliness and live godly lives, not through fear, but through God’s grace. Romans 8:1 There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. aflevering “You’re Holy… So Why Are Christians Still Trying to Get Holy?” artwork

“You’re Holy… So Why Are Christians Still Trying to Get Holy?”

I’d love to hear from you. [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2515893/fan_mail/new] What if holiness is not something you are trying to achieve, but something Jesus already made true about you? What if New Covenant holiness is not God saying, “Become acceptable so I can receive you,” but God saying, “I have already received you in Jesus, now live from who you really are”? In this episode of Grace Uncensored, we expose one of the biggest pieces of Christian double-talk: saying believers are holy while teaching them to chase holiness like they do not have it. Holiness is a big deal in the Bible. But under the New Covenant, holiness is not a ladder you climb so God will accept you. It is the fruit of a new identity God has already given you in Christ. We’ll talk about why Old Testament prayers like Psalm 51 can confuse believers when read without a New Covenant lens, why Hebrews says believers have been made holy once for all, and why grace does not produce laziness. Grace trains us to live free. If you have ever felt like holiness meant pressure, performance, fear, or trying to stay acceptable to God, this episode is for you. In Christ, you were washed. You were sanctified. You were justified. You were made holy. And now grace teaches you to live from who you already are. Watch the latest episode, catch up on past episodes, get the free Grace Uncensored devotional, download The Salvation Reality List, and support the message at GraceUncensored.org. Bible References from This Episode Psalm 51:10–12 David prayed, “Create in me a clean heart” and asked God not to take His Spirit from him. This is a powerful Old Covenant prayer, but under the New Covenant, believers are already washed, made new, and sealed by the Holy Spirit. We read Psalm 51 through the finished work of Jesus. 1 Corinthians 6:11 Paul says believers “were washed,” “were sanctified,” and “were justified.” These are past-tense realities, not goals we are trying to earn. Holiness begins with what God has already done in Christ. Hebrews 10:10 This verse says we have been made holy through the sacrifice of Jesus “once for all.” Holiness is not something believers achieve by trying harder. Jesus set us apart through His finished work. Hebrews 10:14 By one sacrifice, Jesus has made believers perfect forever while the Spirit continues to grow us in daily life. This shows both identity and growth. We are already secure in Christ, and now we learn to live from that truth. Romans 6:14 Sin is no longer our master because we are not under law, but under grace. Grace is not permission to sin. Grace is the environment where sin loses its dominion. Titus 2:11–12 Grace teaches us to say no to ungodliness and live godly lives. Fear may pressure behavior for a while, but grace trains the heart. New Covenant holiness is produced by grace, not condemnation. Romans 8:1 There is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus. This is not just true on our best spiritual days. No condemnation is the settled reality of everyone who belongs to Christ. 1 Peter 1:15 Peter says, “Be holy in all you do.” Under the New Covenant, this is not a command to earn holiness. It is a call to live outwardly from the holy identity God has already given us. Colossians 2:10 Believers are complete in Christ. We are not spiritually half-built or waiting for some missing piece to arrive. Holiness flows from the fullness we already have in Jesus. 2 Peter 1:3–4 God has given believers everything needed for life and godliness, and we have become partakers of the divine nature. This means holiness is not self-improvement with Bible verses attached. It is Christ’s life being expressed through us. Ephesians 1:13–14 When we believed, we were sealed with the promised Holy Spirit, who is the guarantee of our inheritance. Our union with Christ is not temporary or fragile. God has marked us as His own. Colossians 2:13–14 God forgave us all our sins and canceled the debt against us, nailing it to the cross. Forgiveness is not temporary, partial, or probationary. Jesus did not forgive us halfway. Hebrews 7:22 Jesus is the guarantee of a better covenant. Our confidence is not in our grip on God, but in Christ Himself. The New Covenant rests on Jesus’ finished work, not our performance. Romans 8:38–39 Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. This reinforces the security of the believer under the New Covenant. God’s love is not fragile or dependent on our spiritual consistency. 2 Corinthians 5:17 Anyone in Christ is a new creation. Holiness is not trying to repair the old self. It is learning to live from the new life God has already given. Romans 6:6 Our old self was crucified with Christ. This verse sets up next week’s episode on the “sinful nature” double-talk. If the old self died with Christ, believers should not be taught to keep identifying with what Jesus says was crucified. “Grace Saves You… BUT Obedience Keeps You Close?” The Christian Double Talk That’s Exhausting Believers

I’d love to hear from you. [https://www.buzzsprout.com/2515893/fan_mail/new] What if one of the biggest pressures in modern Christianity isn’t coming from the world… but from Christian double-talk? We say: “Saved by grace.” Then quietly teach: “Stay close through performance.” We say: “Jesus finished the work.” Then hand believers a lifetime of pressure trying to maintain what He finished. We say: “You’re accepted.” Then leave people wondering every day: “Am I doing enough?” “Am I close enough?” “Is God disappointed with me?” In Episode 46 of Grace Uncensored, Billy McDonald exposes one of the biggest hidden pressure systems in Christianity and asks a difficult question: Does grace produce obedience… or does pressure? We’ll unpack: • Why many sincere believers feel spiritually exhausted • The Christian double-talk around obedience • Why fear never changes the heart • The confusion around “die to self” and “I die daily” • Why “take up your cross” may not mean what many think it means • How union with Christ changes obedience completely • Why grace produces the transformation religion keeps trying to force This episode also includes listener stories from around the world and explores how many believers moved from fear, guilt, and striving… into freedom and rest. If Christianity has felt heavier than Jesus promised… this episode is for you.   Music License: YouTube Content ID AMMBZKFSZAXYEUET   THE LINK: Everything's in one place at: GRACEUNCENSORED.ORG • The Free Grace Uncensored Devotional • The Salvation Reality List • Support the Message.
