FROM A REGIONAL CAMPUS TO CORNERSTONE OF A GLOBAL CAMPUS NETWORK Dr. Cheryl Richards is the CEO and Regional Dean at Northeastern University at Charlotte [https://www.northeastern.edu/charlotte/], a node campus in Northeastern’s Lifelong Learning Network. In this episode, Cheryl discusses her path to higher education and how she wove together a diverse group of professional experiences. These experiences led to her being named as NEU’s first regional campus CEO. She also talks about the changing landscape of higher education and the opportunities on the horizon for the industry. These opportunities include new ways of thinking about corporate and employee training solutions. In part two of the interview, Cheryl reflects on her leadership journey and the experiences that have shaped her leadership style today. Jim manages a staff of over 300 employees in multiple facilities on campus including 20 residence halls, 18 dining locations, and four stores. Jim is also an author, speaker, and leadership development coach. His book,100 Yards of Success: Leadership Lessons from College Football, was released at the end of 2013 and highlights 100 leadership lessons learned during Jim’s 11 years working in the Pitt Athletic Department. Jim has a Bachelor of Science degree in Business from Miami University of Ohio and Master of Business Administration and Doctorate of Education degrees from the University of Pittsburgh.
