Featuring Professor Ashley Hurst from UVA's School of Nursing as our guest speaker, Hoos for Health Equity digs deeper into conversations surrounding health equity, with a primary focus on COVID-19 vaccine rollout. In this episode, we discuss Prof. Hurst's own experience as a clinical ethicist working at the frontline of UVA Health's vaccine rollout, the sources of vaccine inequity at a local, national and global scale, possible interventions, and lessons for future public health students.

Recorded in March 2020 and based in Charlottesville, VA, four undergraduate UVA students introduce the mission of the Hoos for Health Equity Report -- an effort for students, by students to investigate and delve into health inequities and challenges in healthcare exposed by the COVID-19 pandemic. We also discuss President Biden's goals, the progression of COVID-19 in UVA and Charlottesville, local trends in health disparities, the infamous Danville situation, and more.
