New substance use awareness campaign launched with members of the Traveller community

A new suite of resources developed with members of the Traveller community across Limerick, Clare and North Tipperary has raised awareness about substance use. This collaboration highlights the family support services available to those whose loved ones are struggling with addiction. The initiative has been launched by the Traveller Regional Drug and Alcohol Network (TRDAN) Jim Finn, Chair of the Mid-West Regional Drugs Task Force, and Crystal Ward, who is from Killmallock and is a Traveller Community Healthcare Worker in East Limerick, joined the show this morning. Limerick's Aideen Howard is crowned Miss Universe

22-year-old Aideen Howard was crowned Miss Universe at the Bonnington Hotel in Dublin on Saturday night.  Aideen has recently graduated from the University of Limerick after studying Marketing and French, and she also works as a model. Her main message is to spread confidence, and she hopes she can be someone young people can look up to. She spoke to Gillian on Limerick Today for more. UL research – reimagines Junior Cycle education through 'student-led' learning

New research from the University of Limerick is exploring the NEEDS project, which stands for Negotiating the Essentials for Education in Democratic Societies, and is looking at how student-led learning can transform the Junior Cycle experience.
