"We were evolving as musicians and we started to be more and more thoughtful about our music. Our approach is that the music itself tells a story. Even without vocals, it is self-sufficient. There is a plot, a musical plot in every composition, so we just create the vibe, the atmosphere through music. And then Tatiana listens and writes the story." Jinjer's latest studio album Duél takes inspiration from 19th century aristocratic France to deliver a punch to the gut and a call to introspection. Despite their signature approach to progressive deathcore, there is much about the album that invited self-reflection. Join Eugene Abdukhanov, bass player in Jinjer, and Ruxandra Mîndru of MJB as they delve into the themes and writing process of Duél, as well as the packed world tour both behind and ahead of the Ukrainian band.

Archers: In Conversation - Vulnerability, overseas success and an upcoming album

"You're a young kid, you have these big dreams and you do everything you can to make them a reality and after 10 years of grinding and grinding, you get that tiny taste of success, then you ask yourself, "Oh shit, maybe I should have thought about whether or not this is really what I want for my life." Vulnerability in metal may sound like an oxymoron, but under the guise of distortion and noise, the most fragile parts of ourselves can more safely show themselves. In this interview with metalcore band Archers, we dive into their latest singles ('The Dirt' and 'Say So'), a body of work they've curated piece by piece for over 10 years, and a strong fanbase spanning continents. Check out Archers on Instagram at https://www.instagram.com/archersus/ [https://www.instagram.com/archersus/] and catch them live next time they play a show near you!

Seven Blood: In Conversation - Life Is Just A Phase, sudden success and the anger of a generation

The German band Seven Blood [https://www.instagram.com/wearesevenblood] have had the sort of rise one can only describe as meteoric. Last year, our collaborator Nat interviewed them [https://creators.spotify.com/pod/profile/mediajunkbox/episodes/Seven-Blood-on-Collective-Therapy--Touring-Adventures--and-Their-Debut-Album--Metal-Junkbox-Interviews-e2s4b7m] as they were just beginning to tour and were still exploring what playing live felt for them as a band. Their debut album was on the horizon, but not yet finished. Now it's here. Life Is Just A Phase came out on November 21st 2025, just a few weeks after we had this interview. Here we go through the stories of the singles, how the band have found their groove live and the people who come to see and sing along to their music. The band is just off of tour in the UK and have already announced a few festival dates later this summer, hear all about it over on their website: https://www.sevenblood.com [https://www.sevenblood.com/] and their Instagram @wearesevenblood [https://www.instagram.com/wearesevenblood]
