Recorded Live 6/21/2026 Christ Centered Relationships Thought it hard; Bad friends who make sin easier The Characters * Amnon- David’s son with a sinful desire and living in distress (vs 1, 2) * We all have sinful desires. Do your closest influences point you to holiness or help you justify sin? * Jonadab - “subtil” * We must evaluate a person’s character before allowing their influence in our life The Counsel * Pressure - (vs 4) Some people are not concerned with helping you. They want to see what they can pressure you to do * Amnon caved when Jonadab provided the plan that Amnon couldn’t think of on his own * Do your closest influences pressure you toward sin, or walk with you toward Christ? * The Plan - (vs 5) The people who love you the most will tell you the things that are hard for you to hear * Do your friends make provision for your flesh? Do they help you sin? * A great danger is the person in your life who teaches you how to fulfill the temptation that you’re facing * The Path - (vs 6-14) Amnon became subtil like Jonadab was * (Prov. 13:20) Who you walk with will be who you become * (Prov. 4:26) If I keep this person around where is it leading me? The Consequences * * Tamar was Wounded - (vs 19) Who are you wounding by listening to Jonadab? * But (Fill in your name) ________________ had a friend……. What a tragic testimony to have * Amnon was Wrecked - (vs 14-15) He hated her with a hatred than he loved her with. He ultimately was killed (vs 28) * When you get the sin you thought you wanted, you’ll hate it. Sin can’t deliver what it promises.

Teen SS, Doctrine Matters, Eternal Security

* Does the Bible present a Whole or Holey salvation? * Whole = Unconditional and Permanent * Holey = Conditional and Temporary * Key Verse: John 10:28 * No hypothetical question or scenario we come up with matters more than what God has already said * Those who believe have Eternal Life, Forgiveness, and Justification * Key Verses: John 10:28, Romans 3:24, Ephesians 1:7 * Our Security in Salvation * Kept by God’s Power (Jn. 10:28-29, 1 Peter 1:5) Sealed with the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 1:13-14, Jude 24) * The moment we believed our sins were blotted out * They have already been nailed to the cross (Col. 2:13-15, Heb. 10:17) * Can eternal life be lost? Can the justified become unjustified? Can what was nailed to the cross and blotted out come back to it’s original state? Can a new creature become what it once was? Can we be separated even though God says we can’t? * Key Verses: Romans 8:1, 35-39 * Hebrews 6:4-12– Exposure to truth and light does not save, belief does. There are things that “accompany salvation” those in vs’s 4-6 didn’t have. * Hebrews 10:26– A profession does not mean you have real possession. What’s the evidence? That you continue. Walking away reveals what never was (1 Jn. 2:19) * Galatians 5:1-4– They had returned to the law. Forgot about grace, they didn’t lose salvation. * Colossians 1:23– Those who continue and don’t walk away prove real faith. If you can drop it all, you didn’t possess what you said you did. * John 15:1-6– Fruit is produced by believers, unbelievers have none. What is the evidence in your life of salvation? * 1 John 2:19– Their true heart was revealed. They never were what they said they were. * 2 Peter 2:20-22– Knowlege doesn’t change our nature, only belief in Christ does that * Rev. 3:5– Promise of Security to believers, not loss * The Bible has warnings of false professions, not loss of salvation * Since we can’t earn it, we can’t keep it. It’s not ours to earn or keep. It’s God’s that He gave and He’s responsible to keep us. * Key Verse: Ephesians 2:8-9, Phil. 1:6, Jn. 10:28-29 * If God gives eternal life, do we have the power to make it temporary? He either saves “to the uttermost” (Heb. 7:25) or not at all.
