He has been involved in the local scene in a number of capacities, including on stage, in the studio and behind the scenes booking and promoting shows and bands. In 2018 he was involved in a parliamentary enquiry regarding safeguarding existing music venues against noise complaints from residents of new developments. Kevin Bull has been sporadically active on the local scene as a photographer since as early as 1983 before spending time in Sydney in the corporate world until 2007. In 2004 he began hosting a local music show on Coast FM, in 2005 he began shooting live music again and in 2007 purchased Reverb Street Press, which moved to an online only publication in 2012.
