This week, we continue our new series titled "Jesus Stories", where we look at the transformative power of Jesus, how He is present in all of scripture and our lives today. As the Israelites wandered through the wilderness, their complaints against Moses and God led to them being overrun by snakes and crying to God to save them. They were provided a bronze snake that they could look to for healing. Like the Israelites, we look for help in the midst of our suffering and we can turn to Jesus, the one who not only can help but did help us through His sacrifice for us. rlcsd.org

As the Israelites wandered through the wilderness, their cries for water turned from complaints to demands for justice, that someone must pay for all the suffering they've had to endure. In hindsight, we can look back and wonder how the Israelites, in their moment of pain, couldn't remember how God had just provided manna or delivered them from Egypt. But we too are susceptible to being just like the Israelites, living in tension and fear of the unknown and the future. We can see that even in our hard times, God's presence and His gracious love is still there for us. rlcsd.org

As the Israelites began wandering through the wilderness, they cried out for food out of anger and fear, seemingly forgetting their miraculous deliverance from Egypt. Moses let the people know the Lord would provide manna to them, so long as they followed His rules about the manna. This story points us to Jesus, the true and eternal manna sent from heaven. He not only solves our problems here and now, but eternally. He sustains us each day through a daily relationship with us and provides us with healthy rhythms and true rest. rlcsd.org
