"Free To Serve" (Matthew 11:25-30)

Often, the things we seek to acquire or become ultimately turn into the burdens we bear and the masters we serve. Jesus invites us to take upon our shoulders His yoke, which He calls easy and light. He promises that when we come to Him, He will give us rest. We were created by God to serve. Unfortunately, we usually choose the cruel masters of this world. Instead, let us turn to the good and worthy master, the one who promises rest. In Christ, we are free to serve, let’s serve Him together this morning.

"Summer of Psalms: Joy of Forgiveness" (Psalm 32)

In Psalm 32, David confesses, “For when I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long. For day and night your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was dried up as by the heat of summer.” Have you ever experienced the weight of unconfessed sin? How did it eat away at you? David continues with the good news that when we confess our sin before God, we experience the peace of His forgiveness. Let’s live out this peace in worship together!

“How deep the Father's love for us, How vast beyond all measure. That He should give His only Son, To make a wretch His treasure.” On this Father’s day, we take time to reflect upon the blessing we have of the true and perfect Father who knows us, loves us, and cares for us. We give thanks for those who have filled this earthly role in our lives, and pray that God would continue to encourage and support these men in following their call, that the next generation would ultimately be able to confess “Jesus is Lord!”

Have you ever been in a situation where you found yourself amongst strangers, tasked with becoming a team? Usually, it starts off slowly, but at some point, probably due to a shared goal or objective, strangers become teammates and unity forms. Unfortunately, once the objective is complete, that unity often breaks down. As Christians, we are called to dwell together in unity. Because of our shared Savior, our unity in His name will be able to last forever!

"Summer of Psalms: God Is Our Refuge" (Psalm 91)

Sing to the Lord a Joyful Noise! This summer, we will spend some time in the hymnbook of God, the Psalms! Psalm 91 reminds us that with God, we have an ever-present shelter in our time of need. This is important because life has more than its fair share of storms, but with God, we will always have a ledge of protection to stand under. For that reason, we lift up His powerful name in praise and adoration. “During Life's Storms, God Is Our Refuge!”
