Beschrijving

Episode 368 features Nashville-based Americana songwriter Kevin Daniel. Hailing originally from North Carolina, Kevin brings a rich, soul-stirring blend of southern rock, gospel, blues, and heartfelt storytelling that he calls “Y’allternative Rock.” After years honing his craft in Brooklyn and building a reputation as a dynamic live performer, he’s now calling Music City home and continuing to turn heads with his powerful voice, honest songwriting, and high-energy shows. Kevin’s musical journey took a profound turn after the tragic loss of his parents in a plane crash in 2013. That grief and celebration of their adventurous lives fueled his debut EP FLY, and he’s since released a string of acclaimed projects including Myself Through You, Things I Don’t See, Been Here Before, and his latest full-length The Life & Adventures of Kevin Daniel (via Organic Records). He’s shared stages with artists like Brittany Spencer and Mary Gauthier, toured extensively across the US, UK, and Mexico (often 100–150 dates a year), and earned praise for his ability to weave rock, soul, roots, and Appalachian influences into deeply personal songs. I featured his track “Bless Your Heart” on this episode. It’s a great example of Kevin’s signature mix of wit, warmth, and raw emotion that captures the spirit of Southern life with a modern edge. If you love authentic Americana with grit, soul, and plenty of heart, Kevin Daniel is a must-listen. Catch him live when he rolls through your town, and stream his music everywhere now.                Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.

Episode 369: Patrick Duffy Band (Blues Rock) [NYC]

Episode 369 features longtime friend of the show Pat Duffy of the Patrick Duffy Band, a high energy blues rock trio hailing from New York City featuring Pat on guitar and vocals, alongside Steve Conroy on bass and Max Yassky on drums. We’ve played several shows together over the years, so it was great catching up with Pat and Steve as the band continues releasing new music, including their latest live album, Nine Bodega Cats... Music from Arlene's Grocery, recorded at the legendary Arlene's Grocery in NYC. On this episode we feature their track “Ten Miles Gone” and talk about everything from Pat’s life as a teacher and the NYC music scene to songwriting, the guitar as an instrument, and much more. Episode 367: Matt Bowe of Haha Charade (Indie Rock) [Philly[

Episode 367 features Matt Bowe of Haha Charade, an indie rock band out of Delaware. We’re super excited to be playing a show together this Friday at The Grape in Manayunk, Philadelphia, alongside BEES! and DelCobras. One of the best local indie music venues on the east coast. On this episode, I featured Haha Charade’s track “Old Friend,” possibly their catchiest song to date. Matt and I got into a great conversation about balancing work, music, exercise, and songwriting, as well as the shared origins behind our band names. Both Haha Charade and The Hollow Truths lean into a tongue in cheek, slightly sardonic take on society at large, which made for a fun connection. Thanks for listening, and hope to see you at the show this Friday, 4/24.   Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.

Episode 366: Brett & LJR (Hollow Truths) [New song episode]

Episode 366 features my longtime friend Luke Roberts (aka LJR), who has also been a member of The Hollow Truths over the years. I wanted to catch up with him this week because we just released a song called “Old Dive’s Tale,” which Luke played drums on (and added some harmonies to as well). The song was written about our college days, when we couldn’t legally get into bars, and it focuses on a seasoned, wise bartender we all used to know. Beyond that, Luke and I caught up on everything we’ve both been up to. I’m getting married soon, so we talked a bit about that and how I probably need to work out more. Luke has been putting a lot of time into his videography business and it is going well. We will also be playing a show together 4/24 in Philadelphia at The Grape Room! Thanks for listening and supporting local artists. Stream “Old Dive’s Tale” wherever you listen to music.   Please follow, rate, or review the podcast wherever you are streaming if you’d like to help us out.  -- Part-Time Rockstar Productions is available in the DMV for music videos and live filming.

Episode 365: Jon Cattivera of Time Spent Driving (90s Indie Rock) [Santa Cruz, CA]

Episode 365 features Jon Cativerra, the founder and songwriter of Time Spent Driving, an indie rock band whose emotive, heartfelt sound helped define the early 2000s emo and indie scene. He is also the Founder, CEO, and Creative Director of Sleepless Media, a full-service creative agency he launched in 2003. For nearly 25 years, Jon has balanced life as a working musician and agency leader. Proving that creativity and professional success don’t have to come at the expense of one another. In this episode, he shares honest insights on resilience, time management, creative burnout, and what it really takes to sustain both passions. Whether you’re a musician building a career, an entrepreneur with creative ambitions, or someone trying to balance work with passion projects, this conversation is packed with practical wisdom and inspiration. Tune in as Jon shares stories from the road, lessons from building Sleepless Media, and how he continues to stay driven in both worlds.
