episode Prolapse: A Missing Piece artwork
Prolapse: A Missing Piece

Are we assessing prolapse in the position where symptoms actually occur? Welcome back to another episode from the Rising Vault, where we revisit some of our most impactful episodes. In this Missing Piece episode, we’re breaking down a major oversight in prolapse treatment: 💡 The lack of a standing, functional assessment. Think about it—if an orthopedic patient came in with pain while running, would we evaluate them only sitting or lying down? Of course not! But that’s exactly what happens with prolapse patients when we don’t assess them in the position where they experience symptoms. In this episode, we cover:  ✅ Why a standing prolapse assessment is critical for better treatment ✅ The common hesitations about performing one (and how to overcome them) ✅ How to integrate standing assessments into your practice If you’re not routinely assessing prolapse in standing and movement, you’re missing a key part of the puzzle. Let’s fix that! 3 Ways to Fight Procrastination and Be More Productive

In this Rising Vault episode, we’re sharing 3 practical tips to help you become more productive—especially when you’re running or starting your own practice. Productivity is a skill, not something you're magically born with. And for many pelvic health professionals, it’s a big adjustment: 👉 We’re used to being told what to do in structured jobs. 👉 Perfectionism keeps us from calling things “done.” 👉 Our days get broken into small, unfocused chunks. 👉 We’re unsure what to prioritize in business. The good news? You can train productivity just like any other skill—with the right mindset and tools. We dive into 3 actionable ways to get more done, stay focused, and stop feeling like you're spinning your wheels. If this hits home, it’s exactly what we emphasize in the Pelvic PT Rising Accelerator Program —because being productive on your own is a whole new ballgame. episode Stress Urinary Incontinence: A Missing Piece artwork
Stress Urinary Incontinence: A Missing Piece

Strength isn’t the key to fixing urinary incontinence. Welcome back to another episode from the Rising Vault—where we bring back some of our most impactful episodes to highlight The Missing Piece in common pelvic health conditions. Today, we’re tackling urinary incontinence—and the one thing that’s often overlooked: 🟢 The focus on task and timing. Most of us were taught to assess voluntary pelvic floor strength first—but here’s the problem: 👉 Pelvic floor strength isn’t correlated with incontinence. 👉 A patient can test weak and have no symptoms at all. 👉 A patient can test strong and still have massive incontinence issues. So instead of focusing on isolated strength, we need to ask:  ✅ What task are they struggling with? ✅ When does the pelvic floor fail to meet the demand? ✅ How does the pelvic floor function in real-world situations? This means prioritizing standing and dynamic assessments—not just lying-down muscle testing. (For a deep dive into this, check out Not Your Mama’s Kegels at www.pelvicptrising.com/kegels [https://www.pelvicptrising.com/kegels]). episode 5 Myths About Starting a Business artwork
5 Myths About Starting a Business

Thinking about starting a business—or already in it? Let’s bust some myths. In this episode from the Rising Vault, we’re diving into the 5 most common misconceptions we hear about starting a pelvic health business. These myths cause real harm—leading business owners to overspend, second-guess themselves, or build a practice that doesn’t align with their goals. We’re clearing up the confusion around:  1️⃣ “Starting a business is hard” – It takes effort, but it doesn’t have to be complicated. 2️⃣ “You have to take insurance” – Nope. Not unless that’s the model you want. 3️⃣ “You need a loan or expensive experts to get started” – Most don’t. You can start lean and still succeed. 4️⃣ “Patients and physicians will just follow you” – You’ll need to market and earn that trust again. 5️⃣ “Starting a business is risky” – The right business model actually gives you more control and stability. If you’re dreaming of your own practice—or just started and are feeling overwhelmed—this is a must-listen. 👉 Check out our Business Kickstart Program to go from clinician to confident business owner with a proven step-by-step roadmap: www.pelvicptrising.com/kickstart [https://www.pelvicptrising.com/kickstart] Already Open?  Business Accelerator Program - Next Cohort in July! episode The Three Types of Downtraining (And Why They Matter) artwork
The Three Types of Downtraining (And Why They Matter)

🚨 Are you using all three types of downtraining in your practice? 🚨 We often talk about "downtraining" without fully defining what it is—or recognizing that there are actually three distinct types. If you’re not considering all three, you’re missing key ways to help your patients. We’re bringing back one of our most popular episodes! While I’m out on maternity leave, we’re replaying some of the most impactful conversations we’ve had on the podcast over the years. In this episode, we break down: ✅ Pelvic Floor – Direct – Hands-on techniques, biofeedback, and other direct interventions. ✅ Pelvic Floor – Indirect – Treating surrounding structures like the hips, glutes, and breath mechanics. ✅ Central Nervous System – Addressing the brain-body connection, pain science, and autonomic regulation. Each type of downtraining requires different techniques—and knowing which one to prioritize can get your patients better, faster. If you’ve ever felt like “downtraining” is a vague, overused term, this episode will give you clear, actionable strategies to make it more effective for your patients! Downtraining Masterclass If you'd like a deep dive into downtraining, make sure you check out the Downtraining Masterclass! (www.pelvicptrising.com/downtraining).  It's targeted, bite-sized and (at $47 for lifetime access) incredibly affordable.  It's information you'll use with your patients every single day!
