If you have ever wanted to get into advocacy, this is the episode for you! I’m beyond excited to share the latest episode of Roaming with Restless Women in which I had the incredible honor of chatting with Sandy Rosenthal, a true force of nature and the founder of Levees.org. Sandy’s story is one of resilience, courage, and the relentless pursuit of truth. Sandy and her family lived through Hurricane Katrina and, while they were evacuated from New Orleans, she began hearing a lot of disparaging comments and misinformation about the disaster. Discover how Sandy identified and fought against the false narratives surrounding the New Orleans flooding, proving that the levees should have held against a Category 2 storm (which was what Katrina eventually became before landfall). The levees should NOT have failed. Sandy made it her mission to correct the misinformation that was being touted at the time. She began Levees.org, starting with a simple website and a petition to President Bush that quickly gained traction and media attention. She understood and used the media to change the narrative to the truth - that the levees were not properly engineered and that they needed to be re-built to withstand higher tidal surge from at least Cat 5 hurricanes. narrative and how Sandy leveraged it to spread the truth. Her book, Words Whispered in Water, is in its second edition and describes the story of Katrina from her perspective. Secrets of Natural Healing: Face, Tongue & Fingernail Analysis

I had a fascinating conversation with Dr. Randi Shannon on the latest "Roaming with Restless Women" episode. One idea really stood out to me: the body is brilliant and has an innate blueprint for healing. Dr. Shannon's philosophy, shaped by her 20 years working with Dr. Joel Wallach, is that if we provide the body with the right raw materials—the proper nutrients—it knows exactly what to do to start repairing itself. It’s not about fighting the body, but rather supporting its natural intelligence. It's a powerful shift in perspective, moving from a mindset of intervention to one of interpretation and support. Why Trauma-Informed Coaching Is the Best Gift You Can Give Yourself

Does "finding your purpose" feel like overwhelming pressure? I get it. I asked my guest Tori Janae this very question on Roaming with Restless Women, and her answer was so freeing. She believes our core purpose is simply to evolve and grow. As long as you are learning, loving, and contributing in some way, you are living your purpose. It doesn't have to be a single, grand lightning-bolt moment. For ten years, your purpose might be raising your children. After that, it might be sharing your wisdom in a new career. It can change minute by minute. The key? Follow what lights you up. Follow your curiosity. That's where you'll find your path, and it was a relief to be reminded that the journey itself is the purpose. Breaking Barriers to Mental Health Care for Youth and Families

In Illinois, the behavioral health workforce can only meet about 24% of the current need. I had a conversation with Janelle Miller Moravek from Youth and Family Counseling on my latest podcast episode of Roaming with Restless Women, and this number really stuck with me. It’s a staggering gap, especially when you consider the rising demand for mental health support. Janelle shared how her organization is tackling this head-on by creating programs to introduce high school students to careers in behavioral health. It was so encouraging to hear her talk about how the younger generation's openness and passion for wellness could be the key to building a stronger, more resilient mental health workforce for the future. Why Your Workplace Culture Might Be Crumbling and How to Rebuild It

We hear a lot about corporate culture, but do we really know how to define it and make it work for, rather than against, corporate and employee personal goals? In this episode of Roaming with Restless Women, Janice Brathwaite, founder of Workplace Transformations and passionate advocate for people-first cultures shares her powerful five-part Workplace Transformation framework, revealing how cultural misalignment silently undermines organizations through poor communication and lack of recognition. Through compelling real-world stories, she demonstrates why empowering employees and involving them in decisions creates unstoppable teams. Janice also reflects on entrepreneurship, her love for Salem's ocean shores, and what it truly means to be a wise woman. A must-listen for anyone ready to transform their workplace! Navigating Sacred Menopause with Soulfull Wisdom

What if menopause was… sacred? Have you ever met someone and felt an instant, soul-deep connection? That’s exactly what happened when I sat down to talk with the incredible Ahriana Platten for this episode of Roaming with Restless Women. Ahriana is a true "sacred rebel"—a wise woman who moves between the corporate and spiritual worlds with so much grace. Our conversation was one of those chats that leaves you feeling seen, understood, and totally inspired. We talked about the magic of women gathering, the wisdom of our bodies, and reframing menopause not as an ending, but as a powerful, sacred beginning. Ahriana spoke so passionately about shifting the narrative around menopause from a "curse" to a sacred rite of passage. It’s not just about hot flashes and brain fog; it’s a profound spiritual transition where we move from nurturing others to sharing our accumulated wisdom with the world. She believes this is the time we step into our true power as wise women, and I couldn't agree more.
