A DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: "My soul magnifies the Lord!" Those words of Mary spoken on her visitation to Elizabeth (Luke 1:39-46) are a wonderful reminder of how we can bring the presence of Christ when we visit others. On this date, many Christians recall the Festival of the Visitation. Elizabeth recognized the presence of her Lord and praised God for Him. May you also find opportunities to visit others and bring His presence and message of joy, peace, forgiveness, and the hope of eternal life.

A DEVOTIONAL THOUGHT: "Where you go I will go, and where you stay I will stay. Your people will be my people and your God my God" (Ruth 1:16). A beautiful text often used at weddings, yet it is more about family relationships. As we remember the Old Testament matriarch, Ruth, on this date, we see her faithfulness, loyalty, and kindness. She is a model of faith and the great grandmother of King David and, ultimately, Jesus, the Messiah, was her descendent (Matthew 1:16-17).
