#gameofgold #pokerstrategy #ggpoker Playing poker on a TV table under bright lights with your cards revealed is a daunting challenge for any poker player. Adding a seasoned poker professional like Maria Ho as your opponent makes the situation even more nerve-racking! Lukas Robinson found himself in exactly that spot during GGPoker’s Game of Gold, facing a stare-down from Ho after firing a big river bet with just six high! Will he shock everyone with this audacious bluff, or will Ho sniff it out and pick him off? When you’re on the fence about whether to call or fold with a hand, it’s important to consider the suits of the cards in your hand and how they may block or unblock your opponent’s bluffs. If there’s a flush on the board and you have a weak top pair, holding a card that matches the suit of the potential flush makes calling more profitable if you are following a game theory optimal (GTO) poker strategy, as it reduces the number of flushes your opponent could have. Maria Ho is a professional poker player from America. She has over $5,400,000 in live tournament earnings, putting her in the top 350 on the all-time money list. She is well known for commentating on a wide variety of poker shows including the US Poker Open, Super High Roller Bowl, Poker Masters and the World Series of Poker. Lukas Robinson “RobinPoker” is a professional poker player from England. He has over $50,000 in live tournament earnings. He is known for being the first PokerNews ambassador, a role that sees him streaming online poker on Twitch. He made a name for himself in 2021 when he became the first poker player to stream his poker sessions for over 1,000 hours across 100 consecutive days. Filmed in Seoul, South Korea and hosted by experienced poker broadcaster Ali Nejad, Game of Gold combines high stakes poker with survival reality TV. Over the course of the 12 episodes, the sixteen participants competed across various poker formats, including Sit & Go’s, Heads-Up games, Indian Poker and a standard tournament poker game. The poker players on the show included Daniel Negreanu “KidPoker”, Jason Koon, Fedor Holz “CrownUpGuy”, Kevin Martin, Kyna England, Josh Arieh, Daniel Cates “Jungleman”, Lukas Robinson “RobinPoker”, Nikita Luther ‘HiiiBarbie’, Charlie Carrel “Epiphany77”, Johan Guilbert “YoH ViraL”, Olga Iermolcheva, David Williams, Andy Tsai “Andy Stacks”, Michael Soyza and Maria Ho. In Round 1, a four-tier Sit & Go poker format, each team (spades, diamonds, hearts, and clubs) put a poker player into a separate round of four-handed poker action, with Game of Gold coins on offer for finishing first, second, third, or fourth. The rounds increased in the amount of coins that were offered, until the fourth ‘mystery’ round, where no one knew how many coins were on offer. The team with the least Game of Gold coins at the end of all four Sit & Go’s would be eliminated. The final six players competed in a winner-take-all format Sit & Go (SNG). This was unique as it meant there was no Independent Chip Model (ICM) pressure on any of the poker players. Game of Gold Results 1st: Maria Ho – U.S.A – $456,000 2nd: Daniel Cates ‘Jungleman’ – U.S.A – $0 3rd: Johan Guilbert ‘Yoh Viral’ – France – $0 4th: Fedor Holz ‘CrownUpGuy’ – Germany – $0 5th: Kyna England – U.S.A – $0 🔍 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f50d.png] Preflop: After the cutoff and button fold, Maria Ho calls the extra 20,000 from the small blind holding J6o. Lukas Robinson decides to check his option out of the big blind with 65o and they head to the flop. 💸 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f4b8.png] Flop – Jd 7d 2s: Ho flops top pair with a backdoor flush draw and leads out for a minimum bet of 40,000. Robinson floats the flop with just six high, a backdoor straight draw and a backdoor flush draw. 💣 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f4a3.png] Turn – 8d: The flush completes on the 8 of diamonds turn. Ho checks her pair of jacks with a flush draw and Robinson tries to take down the pot with a bet of 80,000 after picking up an open-ended straight draw and a backdoor flush draw. Ho calls as they both make it to the river. 🌊 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f30a.png] River – 7c: A board pairing 7 of clubs falls on the river, keeping Ho ahead with her flopped top pair. She checks, and Robinson, left with a busted straight draw, decides to bluff with a near pot sized bet of 300,000. Will Ho sniff out the bluff and make the correct hero call, or will Robinson’s bet force a fold from the poker legend? Stay tuned until the end of this poker video to find out! #pokertips #pokerstrategy #pokeradvice Learning to play perfectly from the big blind is vitally important as it is the position at the poker table where you will play most of your hands from. Too many poker players make huge mistakes in the big blind that really eat into their overall win rate. Knowing whether to check, call, or raise when the action is on you will help you understand the perfect way to play in the big blind. Although the majority of the time the big blind is played from out of position, you should be seeing the most flops from this position because you have already invested chips into the pot and will often be getting great pot odds. In general poker players are folding too often and are shocked by the wide range of hands that fall into the perfect way to play from the big blind. Even though calling from the big blind is usually the most lucrative option, knowing the perfect time to raise, or 3-bet and what hand ranges to do it with are also paramount to creating a successful big blind strategy. In this webinar, Jonathan Little will give his tips on the perfect way to play in the big blind. Little has come across thousands of preflop big blind spots and post-flop big blind spots. He plans to disclose some of his secrets to help you start playing and winning more from the big blind, whether it is in poker tournaments or cash games. In order to take your poker game to the next level it is vitally important you learn all the nuances of the game. Do you know what ranges of poker hands you should be playing from each position? When should you 3-bet, call or fold? When is the right time to make a hero call or a huge bluff? Do you know how to play preflop, flop, turn & river effectively and how should your poker strategy change depending on the street? What difference does it make if you are playing multi-way vs heads-up? pokeradvice #pokertips #pokerstrategy The post The PERFECT Way To Play In The BIG BLIND | A Little Poker with Jonathan Little 04-21-2025 [https://jonathanlittlepoker.com/the-perfect-way-to-play-in-the-big-blind-a-little-poker-with-jonathan-little-04-21-2025/] first appeared on Jonathan Little [https://jonathanlittlepoker.com].

pokerstrategy #tritonpoker #highstakespoker During a $125,000 buy-in high stakes poker tournament at the 2024 Triton Poker Series Montenegro. Alex Kulev’s dreams come true when he gets dealt pocket aces on his first hand at the table and PokerCoaching.com coach Chris Brewer decides to 4-bet him. But by the river, Kulev’s pocket rockets are no longer the best hand. How dirty is this? Will the online poker wizard be able to fold the best starting hand in poker? When playing a game theory optimal (GTO) strategy with a very deep stack in tournament poker, pocket aces should rarely be part of your 5-betting range preflop. Aces play better as a trap preflop, therefore you should include them into your 4-bet calling range instead. A hand like pocket kings should fall into your 5-bet for value range, while ace-five suited is typically used as a 5-bet bluff. Chris Brewer is an American professional poker player. He has over $25,100,000 in live tournament earnings putting him in the top 40 on the all-time money list. He has 2 World Series of Poker (WSOP) bracelets, one of which came from the 2023 $250,000 buy-in event for $5,293,556. He is also a PokerCoaching.com coach with a fantastic advanced course on how to crush cash games. Alex Kulev ‘FutureofMe’ is a professional poker player from Bulgaria. He has almost $14,100,000 in live tournament earnings which puts him in the top 100 on the all time money list and 1st on Bulgaria’s all time money list. He has 1 WSOP bracelet which came from a $50,000 buy-in event at the 2023 WSOP. He won $2,087,073 for his first place finish. Triton Poker was founded in 2015 by Paul Phua and Richard Yong; their aim was to attract a healthy mixture of recreational poker players and seasoned poker professionals. Part of what makes the Triton Series so special is that it’s open to a wide range of poker players – not just a select few. They envisioned Triton as a series of poker events providing excellent entertainment value for audiences passionate about poker. Some of the most famous poker players to have appeared at Triton events have been Phil Ivey ‘RaiseOnce’, Tom Dwan ‘Durrr’, Patrick Antonius ‘The Finn’, Michael Addamo ‘imluckbox’, Chris Brewer, Jason Koon ‘JAKoon1985’, Tony G, Dan Cates ‘Jungleman’, Doug Polk ‘WCGRider’, Stephen Chidwick ‘stevie444’, Linus Loeliger ‘LLinusLLove’, Isaac Haxton ‘philivey2694’, Mikita Badziakouski ‘fish2013’, Timofey Kuznetsov ‘Trueteller’ and many more. Kulev chooses not to 5-bet as he slow-plays the pocket rockets and just calls. 💸 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f4b8.png] Flop – Kc 4c 4h: Brewer flops top boat and currently has the second nuts, only behind to an extremely unlikely quads. pokerstrategy #pokervlog #bradowen Whether they won or lost, every poker player will remember the biggest pot of their life! When poker vlogger Brad Owen sat down at a high stakes cash game in the Bellagio poker room, he knew he might encounter the largest pot of his poker career – though he probably didn’t expect it to be with queen-six of spades! In this poker hand, on the river, Brad holds the third nuts and faces a pot-sized bet from his opponent. Will he win or lose this unforgettable poker hand? Whatever happens it is certain that Brad Owen is in shock at the outcome of this hand! When playing deep stacked poker, you should generally continuation bet less often from out of position as being in position provides a huge advantage. However, in live poker, where flop raises are less frequent and ranges tend to be wider, continuation betting from out of position often becomes a more viable poker strategy. Brad Owen is a WPT ambassador and co-owner of The Lodge Card Club in Texas, he is a very successful YouTube poker vlogger with over 758,000 subscribers. His YouTube channel has had over 175,000,000 views. Primarily a cash game poker player Brad has started playing more live poker tournaments since the start of 2022. His lifetime total live poker tournament winnings are over $900,000. His biggest cash for $152,266 came in December 2023 when he finished 7th in the $50,000 WPT Alpha8, during the WPT World Championship at the Wynn, Las Vegas. The Bellagio poker room is a stylish 7,000 square feet space that houses 40 tables and two high-limit areas, the most prominent of which is the Legends Room – an exclusive two-table enclave named to honor poker’s greatest players. This room was previously known as Bobby’s room, named after the legendary poker player Bobby Baldwin. 🔍 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f50d.png] Preflop: Brad Owen raises to $120 from the hijack with Q6 of spades and the villain on the button calls with J2 of spades. After both blinds fold, they both head to the flop. 💸 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f4b8.png] Flop – Ts 4s 2c: Brad flops a flush draw, a backdoor straight draw, and an overcard, so he decides to fire a continuation bet of $200. The button player holds bottom pair with an inferior flush draw and opts to raise to $600. Brad calls and they head to the turn. 💣 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f4a3.png] Turn – 8s: The flush completing 8 of spades on the turn is perfect for Brad, as both players improve to a flush. Brad’s queen-high flush leaves his opponent drawing dead. Brad checks and his opponent fires another bet, this time for $1,300. Brad chooses to slow-play and just calls. 🌊 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f30a.png] River – 5d: The river doesn’t change anything and Brad still has the best hand with the third nuts. He checks again and his opponent goes for value by betting close to a pot-sized bet of $4,000. Will Brad fear a higher flush and just call, or will he raise to extract maximum value from his opponent’s lower flushes or other strong hands? pokerstrategy #highstakespoker #pokergo The Lodge Live stream always delivers to its audience a tonne of crazy high stakes poker action. That was no different in this poker hand as popular poker vlogger Mariano and crazy businessman Taras face off against each other. It seems like a relatively innocuous hand until Mariano check-raises the river with top-top. Most players would just fold, but Taras is not like most other poker players! When bluffing, making a small flop bet in relation to the size of the pot encourages your opponent to stick around with poker hands like overcards, gutshots, and backdoor draws. As a result, double barreling becomes a much more lucrative play. On relatively blank turns, you can force your opponent to fold hands that currently beat yours, and it also makes your overcard outs much cleaner when you hit them on the river. Mariano Grandoli also known as Mariano is an American professional poker player born in Argentina. He regularly features on the Hustler Casino Live stream. He also has a popular poker YouTube channel with over 167,000 subscribers. Since 2021, Mariano has played over 178 live streamed cash games and has won over $1,600,000. Taras Bobrovytsky is an amateur poker player living in Texas. He has been a regular at The Lodge for a long time and will play stakes from $5/$10 all the way up to $400/$800. He is known to be very talkative at the table. Since 2022, Taras has played over 24 live streamed cash games and has won over $600,000. In early 2022, poker professionals Doug Polk, Brad Owen and Andrew Neeme joined forces to acquire a controlling stake in The Lodge Poker Club & Card Room, which happens to be the largest poker establishment in Austin, Texas. This exclusive poker club, accessible only to its poker members, boasts an impressive array of amenities, including over 80 poker tables of cash games and tournaments, operating around-the-clock. Additionally, The Lodge provides an inviting ambiance with 40 large-screen TVs, allowing poker club members to enjoy sports entertainment while playing poker or while relaxing in the cozy waiting area. The live poker stream includes commentary from Skull Mike and Slick Rick, who have been long-time regulars at The Lodge. They provide viewers with strategic insights, complemented by a perfect blend of humor. Lodge Card Club has bought San Antonio’s largest poker room, Rounders Card Club, which opened in July 2024. The new Lodge Card Club San Antonio will relocate to a larger space to host bigger poker tournaments and events. Chaz Gill, known as Big Daddy Chaz, will join Doug Polk, Andrew Neeme, and Brad Owen as a partner to help meet the local poker community’s needs. 🔍 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f50d.png] Preflop: With the $200 straddle on, Mariano raises to $500 from under-the-gun+1 with big slick. Taras 3-bets to $1,500 from the cutoff with QJ of diamonds, and Mariano just calls with ace-king instead of opting for a 4-bet. 💸 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f4b8.png] Flop – 8h 7h 5s: Both players completely miss the low, wet, and connected flop. Only Mariano has a backdoor flush draw. Mariano checks, and Taras makes a continuation bet for $1,000 with just two overs and a backdoor straight draw. Mariano calls with his overcards and backdoor draws, and they both proceed to the turn. 💣 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f4a3.png] Turn – 7s: The board pairing 7 of spades on the turn is intimidating for both players. Mariano checks again, and Taras checks behind. 🌊 [https://s.w.org/images/core/emoji/15.0.3/72x72/1f30a.png] River – Kd: Mariano improves to top pair, a pair of kings, on the river and checks for the last time. Taras, holding only queen high, attempts to represent the king by firing a bet of $2,400. Mariano, however, decides to go for more value as he decides to check-raise to $14,400 with his top pair, top kicker. Now Taras faces a tough decision. Will he fold his suited broadway cards against Mariano’s aggressive line, or will he make a surprising move? Stay tuned to see what happens next!
