Today is a big day for me! After waiting for nearly 2 weeks, I received my notice that I am now a Google Certified Trainer. This achievement was years in the making and it all started with a visit to Google's Teacher Center (https://edu.google.com/teacher-center/) where I learned the basics and advanced features of different Google apps. The training modules helped me achieve the GCE Level 1 and 2 accreditation. Now, I am sharing with you all, my experience taking the GCE Level 1 and 2. As well as the GCE Trainer Skills Assessment examination.

For Keys School Manila's third annual unconference, I did a webinar on Preparing Students for 21st Century Learning: A Focus on Approaches to Teaching and Learning. The webinar poses a simple question "Are we Teachers of Content or Teachers of Skills?" The presentation then proceeded in examining and focusing on the International Baccalaureate's Approaches to Teaching (ATT) and Approaches to Learning (ATL). This focus gives insights into how teachers can prepare students for lifelong learning through careful and mindful planning, thoughtful consideration of learning engagements, and a conscious effort to integrate skills into learning. In this episode, we’ll take a look at why buzzwords like technology, 21st century learning, and the like shouldn’t be taken lightly but with seriousness.

Have you ever faced the problem of looking for resources that don’t fit your class? This was the problem I faced when I first started teaching. Resources that are too high or too low for my students and not suitable for learning. Thankfully, I found different solutions to help me create content that fit my classes.

In this month’s episode, we’ll take a look at clubs—specifically student clubs and how we can make it better.
