Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1583908/fan_mail/new] Trump got cornered by the House vote on his Iran war powers — and the GOP split is now on the record. The House passed a War Powers Resolution 215–208, with four Republicans joining Democrats to say Trump should not be able to keep U.S. forces in hostilities with Iran unless Congress authorizes it. This vote did not end the war. But it did something Washington hates. It put names on the board. Now every member has to answer the question: do you make Trump come back to Congress, or do you let one man keep the war machine running? This is not some dusty civics argument. This is about troops, money, gas prices, working families, and whether Congress still has the guts to do its job. If the war is necessary, make the case. If the risk is worth it, vote on it. If the cost is worth it, put your name on it. The Fence

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1583908/fan_mail/new] The American Front Porch – Episode 1: The Fence Somewhere in your memory... there's a fence. Maybe it was painted white. Maybe it was barbed wire. Maybe it stood behind a Little League ball field or along a gravel road that led home. This isn't really a story about fences. It's a story about the ordinary places where Americans learned the habits that make self-government possible—responsibility, stewardship, neighborliness, and citizenship. The American Front Porch is a new storytelling series exploring the objects, places, and memories that quietly shaped generations of Americans. Because sometimes the most important lessons weren't taught in classrooms or courtrooms. Sometimes they were learned beside an old fence. If this story meant something to you, share it with someone who remembers a fence of their own. 🇺🇸 Carry the Constitution with you:  YourPocketConstitution.com [https://thecoffmanchronicle.kit.com/pocket-constitution] 📰 More stories and daily commentary:  TheCoffmanChronicle.com [https://www.thecoffmanchronicle.com/] You’re listening to today’s Opening Argument from The Tony Michaels Podcast. The Foreman Looked Away

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1583908/fan_mail/new] When the rules apply to some people but not others, trust begins to break. Today’s Opening Argument starts on a factory floor, where one worker watches a simple safety rule become optional for someone with the right connection. But the lesson is bigger than one workplace. A republic can survive hard rules.  What it cannot survive is selective rules. When power starts handing out exceptions to the connected, ordinary Americans learn that justice has become negotiable. When Congress Goes Silent, Soldiers Carry the Risk | TMP #1085

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1583908/fan_mail/new] Today’s Opening Argument goes back to Newburgh, New York, in 1783 — when unpaid Continental soldiers were pushed to the edge by a Congress that would not keep its promises. The lesson still matters: When Congress refuses to carry its constitutional burden, somebody else carries the risk. War power belongs to the people through Congress. And when Congress goes silent, silence is not peace. Silence is permission. Before Theodore Roosevelt Became Courage

Send us Fan Mail [https://www.buzzsprout.com/1583908/fan_mail/new] Before America knew Theodore Roosevelt as a symbol of courage, he was a little boy struggling to breathe. In this episode of This American Character, Tony Michaels tells the story of young Teddy Roosevelt — a sickly child with severe asthma who learned early that fear could live inside the body. But Roosevelt’s story did not end in weakness. With the encouragement of his father, he began building the strength, discipline, and courage that would later define his life. Before the Rough Rider, before the presidency, before the “strenuous life,” there was a frightened child in a dark bedroom fighting for the next breath. And that is where courage began.
