The hidden protection of God's Word

King Jehoshaphat sent princes, Levites, and priests throughout the nation and as a result God provided the nation with great protection. The same happens with us when we learn and apply the Bible in our own lives - we experience great protection even when we don't necessarily see it.2 Chronicles 17:9-10 And they taught in Judah, and had the book of the law of the LORD with them, and went about throughout all the cities of Judah, and taught the people. And the fear of the LORD fell upon all the kingdoms of the lands that were round about Judah, so that they made no war against Jehoshaphat.

"Because they relied upon the Lord"

Outnumbered two to one, King Abijah and the people of Judah prevailed simply because they relied on the Lord in the hour of their distress. May we do the same!2 Chronicles 13:18Thus the children of Israel were brought under at that time, and the children of Judah prevailed, because they relied upon the LORD God of their fathers.

Are people impressed with Jesus when they watch how we live?

The queen of Sheba was impressed with King Solomon because of what she saw from his servants. Are people impressed with our king, King Jesus, by how we, His servants, live our lives?1 Kings 10:4-5And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon's wisdom, and the house that he had built,5 And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the LORD; there was no more spirit in her.8 Happy are thy men, happy are these thy servants, which stand continually before thee, and that hear thy wisdom.

The fool's journey of self-discovery

Self discovery is the delight of fools. The world is very good at describing and labeling the personal problems we face, but it give no real solutions. Instead of self discovery, we need to diligently search out God's wisdom from God's Word that gives real solutions for the problems we face.Proverbs 18:2A fool hath no delight in understanding, but that his heart may discover itself.

Don't despise God's Word

Don't be guilty of despising God's Word. The word "despise" doesn't necessarily mean hate, it means failing to give proper attention. We are all guilty from time time of not giving God's Word the proper attention in our lives Proverbs 13:13Whoso despiseth the word shall be destroyed: but he that feareth the commandment shall be rewarded.
