Being an Ambassadorial Parent

Psalm 127:3 tell us children are a heritage from the Lord - they belong to God and not to us. These children have a Heavenly Father and God has chosen parents to be the primary tool through which they learn of Him and their need for a Savior. The rest that comes from rooting our identity in Christ and the mutual angst of rooting our identity in our children or other things.

Biblical Parenting

People often say parenting is just “failing your way to success,” and while there’s some truth to that, it’s not the whole picture. God’s Word actually gives us instruction for parenting and discipline, something we don’t always take as seriously as we should. And we’re not supposed to do it alone. The church is full of people who’ve already walked this road and have godly wisdom to share, and helpful do's and don'ts, that can help us honor God and point our kids to Christ as we parent them.

Introduction

In this session we introduce what God's promises are, argue that God's people must live upon his promises, show the necessity of faith in engaging with his promises, and explain the practice of meditating on his promises.

Christian Liberty

In the last week of this class, we will be covering Christian liberty and liberty of conscience. We will see how God has brought about our freedom through his life, death, and resurrection, and freed us from the commandments and doctrines of men.
