Local breast cancer survivor empowers others navigating life post-treatment

Lisa Whitmore Davis' advice to her fellow survivors: "Give yourself grace, give yourself time." Davis learned she had an aggressive type of breast cancer after experiencing three pulmonary embolisms in 2023. She underwent treatment, including chemotherapy and hypofractionated radiation, at Karmanos Cancer Institute. Now, she is channeling her photography and art (including a documentary about her cancer experience) to connect other survivors with resources to help them navigate life after treatment. On this National Cancer Survivors Month, she sat down with WWJ's Christina McDaniel to discuss the importance of self advocacy, job loss during treatment, self-care and letting go, knowing your inner strength, and so much more.
