Obedience: Ephesians 6

episode Obedience: Ephesians 6 cover

Beskrivelse

In Ephesians 6, Paul teaches that obedience is essential to godly life and social order, beginning in the home and extending to work, citizenship, and ultimately to God Himself. Obedience is not about pleasing men or asserting power, but about serving Christ, recognizing that all authority carries responsibility under God, who shows no favoritism. Discipline and obedience prepare us for life’s inevitable conflicts, whereas self-expression without restraint leads only to frustration. Because our struggle is ultimately spiritual rather than merely human, we need strength beyond ourselves the power of God in Christ. By putting on the whole armor of God, living in obedience to His Word, and persevering in prayer through the Holy Spirit, believers are equipped to stand firm, live faithfully, and walk in the good works God has ordained for them.

episode Peace (Remastered) (The Church) cover

Peace (Remastered) (The Church)

Peace in the biblical sense is the wholeness, prosperity, and well-being that flow from reconciliation with God and restoration under His order. It is more than the absence of conflict; it encompasses peace with God, with oneself, with others, and with creation, reflecting the Edenic harmony lost in the Fall and progressively restored through Christ. Messianic prophecies, such as living under one’s vine and fig tree (Mic. 4:4; Zech. 3:10), symbolize this holistic peace, encompassing security, prosperity, and personal fulfillment, while Jesus Himself embodies and grants this peace (John 14:27). Statist or humanistic peace, limited to the suppression of conflict, cannot achieve true shalom, for only God-centered regeneration produces enduring communion, joy, and righteous order. Biblical peace thus integrates salvation, victory, and well-being: it is both present in the believer’s life and future in the consummation of God’s Kingdom. #BiblicalPeace #Shalom #ChristThePeacemaker #KingdomOfGod #RestorationInChrist #MessianicPeace #GodCenteredOrder #SpiritualWellbeing

episode Sifted in a Sieve cover

Sifted in a Sieve

God’s declaration in Amos 9:9 that He will sift His people “as grain is sifted in a sieve” teaches a hard but necessary truth: the Christian life necessarily involves shaking, breaking, and tribulation, not as punishment but as purification, so that the chaff may be separated from the wheat. Scripture consistently affirms this principle through much tribulation we enter the Kingdom, and God removes what can be shaken so that what cannot be shaken may remain. Yet bound up with this severe process is a profound promise: not a single grain will be lost. God’s sifting guarantees pain and disruption, but never ultimate loss; what He removes is only what must go, and what remains is preserved by His sovereign care. Thus, the trials of history and of personal life are not meaningless cruelties but God’s wise and purposeful work, yielding gain rather than ruin for those who trust Him.

episode The Open Door cover

The Open Door

A grieving friend recently told how she has faced her sorrows by trusting that whenever God closes a door, He also opens another an outlook rooted in the promise that all things work together for good to those who love Him. The real danger comes when people fixate on a closed door, living in the past, refusing God’s providence, and becoming blind to any future; one acquaintance, who spent fifteen years lamenting an old hurt, finally collapsed morally because he would not move on. When we cling to what God has shut, we cut ourselves off from life, growth, and the opportunities His grace continually provides. Scripture assures us that for His people, God sets before us an open door which no man can shut, and our task is to look for that door rather than mourn the one behind us.

Easy Chair No. 148, June 4, 1987 — The French Revolution: The Revolution That Never Ended

In *Easy Chair 148* (June 4, 1987), R.J. Rushdoony and Otto Scott argue that the French Revolution didn’t merely “happen” in history—it **still shapes the modern world**, and its errors keep replaying wherever elites try to seize man’s destiny. They trace the revolution’s logic back to Enlightenment assumptions (especially Locke’s belief in morally “neutral” man who can be remade by education), producing the modern self-appointed class that claims to be **the voice of reason and virtue**—and therefore entitled to rule, censor, purge, and compel. Scott emphasizes that the French Revolution became the template for later leftist revolutions: step-by-step radicalization, propaganda dressed as righteousness, selective moral outrage, the suppression of Christianity (while tolerating anti-Christian cults), public confessions and “purges,” state ownership of children, rewritten calendars and history, and the mass targeting of whole classes “for the crime of birth.” They warn that rhetoric about liberty and equality can mask “**…or death**,” and that revolutionary movements advance by isolating opponents, exploiting scandals, and keeping citizens trapped in short-term thinking. Their conclusion is urgent: because the revolutionary impulse is ultimately a war against God’s order, the only durable answer is a reawakened Christian community applying the whole Word of God to every area of life—unity, clarity, and reconstruction—before the revolution finishes what it started. #EasyChair #Rushdoony #OttoScott #FrenchRevolution #Robespierre #RevolutionaryMyth #CulturalMemory #Propaganda #Totalitarianism #ChristianWorldview #ChristianReconstruction #ApplyGodsWord
