Beskrivelse

How do you keep going when the work feels impossible? When you're tired, overwhelmed, or just running on empty? In this sermon, Tim Horman opens our new series in Acts by exploring one of the most important promises Jesus ever made to his followers. Before ascending to heaven, Jesus told his disciples to wait—because something was coming that would change everything about how they walk with God. The ascension isn't just Jesus leaving—it's his coronation day. Christ now rules from the throne of heaven with authority over all creation. And he's given us a job to do: to be his witnesses to the ends of the earth. But here's the catch: it's utterly impossible to do this work in our own strength. Marketing strategies don't change lives. Enthusiasm and effort aren't enough. Only the power of God can transform hearts—and that's exactly why Jesus promised to send the Holy Spirit. The Spirit isn't just power to do things for God. The Holy Spirit makes Jesus real to us, alive to us. Through the Spirit, we can know Jesus, experience his presence, and become witnesses who don't just talk about Jesus—but help others taste and see his goodness for themselves. 👉 To get questions for small group discussions on this sermon, check out our blog at https://one.org.au/blog/promise-holy-spirit Connect with us: WEBSITE: https://one.org.au INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/one._church FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/churchone We pray that this message was an encouragement for you. episode Stories from Cambodia cover

Stories from Cambodia

What if God's mission isn't reserved for a few extraordinary people, but is something every one of us is invited into right where we are? In this conversation for our OneCare Mission Month, our Missions Pastor Carly Cassidy welcomes Adam and Kate Honeybun home from Cambodia, where they serve with Pioneers at Hope International School in Phnom Penh. Their journey began with what Adam calls a "silly prayer" and a string of open doors that moved their whole family across the world. But the real challenge of their story is closer to home: God uses ordinary skills and everyday jobs for his mission, and the question for all of us is simply, "who are you loving that is right next to you?" Whether you're called to Cambodia or to Blackburn, all of us are invited in. 👉 To get questions for small group discussions on this sermon, check out our blog at https://one.org.au/blog/stories-from-cambodia Connect with us: WEBSITE: https://one.org.au INSTAGRAM:  / one._church FACEBOOK:  / churchone We pray that this message was an encouragement for you. Stories from the Philippines - Pastor Choi and Pastora Alma

What can God do through a single faithful friendship over 25 years? In this special conversation for our OneCare Mission Month, our Missions Pastor Carly Cassidy sits down with Pastor Choi and Pastora Alma of ACCC in the Philippines to celebrate a quarter of a century of partnership between our two churches. From a grieving young pastor and a tiny house church, to feeding programs now reaching more than 500 children a week and churches planting churches, their stories are the book of Acts unfolding in our own day. This is mission as it was always meant to be: not a solo task, but a shared calling. As Pastor Choi puts it, "you haven't given us crumbs, you shared with us your bread." Mission is something all of us are invited into, together. 👉 To get questions for small group discussions on this sermon, check out our blog at https://one.org.au/blog/stories-from-the-philippines Connect with us: WEBSITE: https://one.org.au INSTAGRAM: / one._church FACEBOOK: / churchone We pray that this message was an encouragement for you. episode Together Togather - Carly Cassidy cover

Together Togather - Carly Cassidy

Together Togather: The Mission of the Gathered Church What if the most powerful thing the church could do isn't found in individual heroism, but in simply showing up together? This Missions Month, Carly Cassidy explores five key passages from Acts that reveal how God's mission has always been communal. From the empowering of the disciples at Pentecost to the sending of Paul and Barnabas from Antioch, we see a consistent pattern: the kingdom advances through the gathered church. We gather together as the church so that more people may be gathered into the kingdom of God. Mission isn't meant to be done alone — it's the calling of the whole church. Key Passages: • Acts 1:8 — Mission begins in worship • Acts 2:42-47 — Mission happens in community • Acts 4:32-35 — Mission requires partnership • Acts 13:2-3 — Mission gathers people • Acts 14:26-28 — Mission is for all of us 👉 To get questions for small group discussions on this sermon, check out our blog at https://one.org.au/blog/together-togather Connect with us: WEBSITE: https://one.org.au INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/one._church FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/churchone We pray that this message was an encouragement for you. episode The Persecution - Tim Horman cover

The Persecution - Tim Horman

What if you're not meant to just watch from the sidelines? In Acts 6-7, we meet Stephen—a brand new believer who moves from learner bystander to empowered agent in a matter of weeks. Full of the Spirit, he does what Jesus did: preaching, healing, and shining with God's glory. This Pentecost Sunday, Tim Horman challenges us with a provocative question: if the same Holy Spirit who filled Stephen is available to us today, what might God want to do in and through our lives? It's time to stop making excuses and start stepping into the authority and power that's already ours in Christ. 👉 To get questions for small group discussions on this sermon, check out our blog at https://one.org.au/blog/persecution Connect with us: WEBSITE: https://one.org.au INSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/one._church FACEBOOK: https://www.facebook.com/churchone We pray that this message was an encouragement for you.
