AstraZeneca is withdrawing Zoladex from Australian shelves after deeming the PBS reimbursement price commercially unviable. Around 8,000 women who rely on the monthly injection to treat breast cancer, endometriosis and other conditions are left uncertain about continued access. The pharmaceutical company is negotiating to list a three-monthly version on the PBS while offering temporary free supply to some patients with no alternatives.
