7News Just In
Fourteen public housing units in Cannington, Western Australia, have remained vacant for approximately a year despite being completed, while over 20,000 people wait on the state's public housing list. The Housing Authority-owned properties, which cost $6.6 million to build on a $1.1 million block purchased in 2019, have fallen into disrepair with overgrown weeds and reports of squatters. The designated seniors accommodation is expected to be move-in ready next month, more than five years after construction began in early 2021.
