Description

In Chapter 16 : Beavis and Butthead, I pull back the curtain on my teenage and early adult years with Jean and William—my life givers. These relationships were a non-stop rollercoaster of drama, conflict, and emotional turbulence. From fiery verbal sparring matches to the constant weight of their problems and financial burdens, it often felt like I was the parent in the equation. In this episode, I reflect on the chaos, the resilience it took to navigate their demands, and how those experiences shaped the person I am today. Tune in for raw honesty, heartfelt reflections, and a few laughs along the way. For more about my journey, visit my website at linktr.ee/iamacyclebreaker [linktr.ee/iamacyclebreaker]

Closing the Chapter on A Foster Kid’s Tale

After almost a year away from the mic, I’m finally closing the chapter on A Foster Kid’s Tale. This podcast started as a place for me to tell my story out loud. There were a lot of rambles, a lot of venting, a few random tears, and a whole lot of figuring things out in real time. It wasn’t polished, but it was honest, and it helped me find my voice. Over the past year a lot has changed. I released my second book, grew a lot personally and professionally, and started thinking about these experiences in a deeper way. So this episode is a proper goodbye to A Foster Kid’s Tale and the beginning of the next chapter. I’ve launched a new podcast called Nothing Inherited, where I’ll be diving into life after foster care and trauma, messy growth, ambition when you started behind, boundaries, relationships, and the realities of building a life without a safety net. If you’ve been here since the beginning, thank you. Truly. You can find the new show here: linktr.ee/claramariewrites [linktr.ee/claramariewrites]

#18 Ch.18-19 : No Mistakes, Just Happy Accidents

In this episode of A Foster Kid’s Tale, I finally dust off the mic after a three-month pause. I talk imposter syndrome, not just as an author, but as a foster kid trying to find my place in a tight-knit, faith-driven circle of online advocates. I share what it’s like to feel like you missed the secret handshake. I get into Chapter 18: No Mistakes, Just Happy Accidents and Chapter 19: Battle of the Exes, opening up about past choices, messy love, and what I learned from all of it or at least where I started to learn from it! Plus, I feature an epic little commercial for my favourite Donut Lady at Darling Donuts in Binbrook, ON, because supporting local sweetens everything and honestly they are the absolute bomb to snack on when the feelings hit- happy or sad lol, epic gifts, even more epic for marketing your biz or a no-energy required dish to bring to a function!
