Success? What does this word mean to you?

What does the word success mean to you? Someone who has lots of money and financial freedom? A world leader? A celebrity? I would say the prodigal son was successful as he has more than he would have imagined when he started his journey back home. We too are on a journey and our final home will be heaven. So the question I am asking you is “Where are you planning to spend eternity?” Your image of Father God will influence how you would have answered that question. My prayer is you can see Him as a loving Father who wants an intimate relationship with you now, not just in the future.

Let’s Get Started and The Importance of Teamwork

This episode covers two chapter from the book A Journey of Faith: An Eternal Love Story. We realise as we start this journey obstacles will come in our way so it important we have others around us to give us practical support. As we take this journey our lives are going to change, first internally and then externally. We are reassured that this journey does not end on planet earth, initially, but a big banquet is being prepared in heaven for us. I want to be there, what about you?

Introduction: The Journey

Have you ever taken a journey and instead of it being easy, you ended up traveling a route you have never taken before, down some long county roads? On this journey of life we are all a part of, we have 3 important questions to answer, 1. How important is God in your life? 2. Do you have a personal relationship with God? and 3. Where are you planning to spend eternity? As we look around planet earth we are told because of climate changes we are soon reaching the point of no return and then what? The what will be the Second Coming of Jesus, not as a baby but as King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Are you looking forward to Him coming back to take you home?

Have a Positive Mindset

It is important that we look after our emotional and mental wellbeing as well as our physical health. There are 5 areas of our wellbeing which I refer to as S.P.I.E.S. Spiritual, Physical, Intellectual, Emotional and Social. The words we say to ourselves are important. This is why you are encouraged to write affirmations and Bible promises in key places in your home so you can encourage yourself each day. We also learn about other tools we can use to improve our mindset.

Be Real With Your Emotions

In this chapter we learn about the importance about being real with our emotions when challenges come into our lives. We also learn about the benefits of forgiving others to improve our mental health and wellbeing. Finally we learn about being true to Father God about how we are feeling when challenges come into our life. We are encouraged at the end to make a list of whom God is to us. What is our relationship with Him really like.
