We’re broadcasting from the capital city of the Free State of Florida this week with some controversial topics and stories worthy of discussion. In honor of International Cousins Month, we’re having two of the Brothers’ cousins in as guests today. Mara Frazier and Rebecca Wise will help Brett & Matt look at some of the biggest American news headlines of the week. With the Senate midterms right around the corner, the brothers (and cousins) examine the suspension of Graham Platner’s campaign for the Maine Senate seat; the Trump Administration reigniting conflict with Iran; and Israel’s continued role in the Middle East and differing perspectives on it. Together, they will look at how these different developments will impact the midterms in November.

We’ll take a look at the Declaration of Independence and consider America’s future in light of what the Founders wanted for our nation. We’ll also look at the recent Supreme Court rulings on transgender athletes, birth right citizenship, and late ballots, and what the consequences are for elections.

Supreme Court Rulings, the Situation in Iran, and Socialists Taking Over the Democratic Party

Matt and Brett comment on the developments of the week, which broke in the favor of Republicans. The Supreme Court ruled in favor of the administration’s authority to enforce immigration law, the situation in Iran seems closer to resolution, and Socialists are taking over the Democratic Party, at least in New York. They also talk to Dr. Bob McClure, head of the James Madison Institute, about the great progress being made in red states like Florida and Texas. They discuss the similarities between socialism on the Left and populism on the Right, and the dangers conservatives should be wary of.

Brett and Matt discuss the midterms and some of the races around the country that shouldn't be close, like the U.S. Senate elections in Texas and Maine. They dive into sports: how did President Trump's UFC fight compare to World Cup matches and do violent riots have to be an inevitability when teams like the New York Knicks win a championship in a big blue city? And the big conversation is with Major Leaguer Britt Reames, who pitched for four Major League Baseball teams and will give some insights into the business of baseball and how it's driving some teams as they push into radical ideology.

We’re broadcasting from Tallahassee in the Free State of Florida, with a variety of political and social topics lined up for discussion today on the show. This week the big news is that the US is co-hosting the FIFA World Cup in with Mexico and Canada and recent polling shows that Trump’s approval is slipping. Additionally, Matt and Brett will be looking some more at how the Midterms are shaping up decently for Republicans, and how the Senate Primaries are uniquely interesting this year. Pollster's sentiment is not encouraging for voter turnout prospects this election cycle, so it’ll be interesting to see how will Republicans rally the base.
