After a very professional first round 2-0 victory against Maddington-Kalamunda White City, we sit down with head coach Gerhard Janssen to discuss the first game of the season, his new signings and the plans for the 2023 season. Balga this weekend takes on Curtin University at Princess Wallington Reserve, Balga, on Saturday the 1st of April 2023 with the 18s kicking off at 11am, the reserves kick off at 1pm and the First's kick off at 3pm. #6 - Paul "the Bomber" Zimarino - Perth Soccer Club

We are joined by WA Football royalty, Paul "the Bomber" Zimarino for episode 6 of the Balga Soccer Club Podcast. Paul was inspirational in the FFA Cup game that saw Balga SC destroyed 7-0 at the hands of Perth Soccer Club back in 2019. Paul also scored the FFA Cup goal of the year during the game, an award recognized across Australia. You can watch Paul's goal on the "Official Balga Soccer & Social Club" facebook page.  In 2022 Paul has been the lynchpin of the Perth SC midfield and has well and truly lived up to his nickname "the Bomber" by continuing to score outrageous goals in the Men's WA National Premier League.  Paul discusses the 2022 season, his journey as a junior footballer, overcoming adversity and his views on what makes Perth Soccer Club the most successful club in WA football history.  Paul is an absolute gentleman and we cannot thank him enough for his time on the Balga Soccer Club Podcast.

This week Balga Soccer Club take on Morley Windmills Soccer Club in a mid table battle that has the potential to define the rest of the season for both teams. Both are desperate for 3 points to keep pace with the top 4 and their promotion dreams alive.  We are joined by Morley Windmills players Zoki Vrteski (Former Balga SC Captain 2018/2019/2020) and Bojan Ninkovic (Former Balga SC gun left back Bojan Ninkovic 2019/2020) to discuss their 2022 season so far, reminisce about former glories and some good times at Balga SC. Both are absolute gentlemen off the park and ballers on it.

In episode 4 we sit down with State Division 2 newcomers, South West Phoenix's head coach Nick Carter to discuss the 2022 season so far. The Balga boys travel south on Saturday for our first trip to Bunbury since 1972.
