As The Chi comes to an end after eight unforgettable seasons, I'm reflecting on the impact this groundbreaking series has had on Black storytelling, LGBTQ+ representation, and television as a whole. In this special farewell episode of Behind the Vibe, I share why saying goodbye to The Chi feels so personal, how the show shaped my own journey from dreaming of having a wife and family to becoming a married mom of an 11-month-old son, and why its portrayal of Black families, Black queer love, Black trans women, and Black boys deserves to be celebrated for years to come.
