Description

Proverbs 10:19-21, 12:18, 18:21 19 When words are many, transgression is not lacking,     but whoever restrains his lips is prudent. 20 The tongue of the righteous is choice silver;     the heart of the wicked is of little worth. 21 The lips of the righteous feed many,     but fools die for lack of sense18 There is one whose rash words are like sword thrusts,     but the tongue of the wise brings healing.21 Death and life are in the power of the tongue,     and those who love it will eat its fruits.

Wise Work | Proverbs 6:6-11; 10:4-5; 22:29 | Pastor Owen Hughes

Proverbs 6:6-11 (English Standard Version) 6 Go to the ant, O sluggard;     consider her ways, and be wise. 7 Without having any chief,     officer, or ruler, 8 she prepares her bread in summer     and gathers her food in harvest. 9 How long will you lie there, O sluggard?     When will you arise from your sleep? 10 A little sleep, a little slumber,     a little folding of the hands to rest, 11 and poverty will come upon you like a robber,     and want like an armed man. Proverbs 10:4-5 (English Standard Version) 4 A slack hand causes poverty,     but the hand of the diligent makes rich. 5 He who gathers in summer is a prudent son,     but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame. Proverbs 22:29 (English Standard Version) 29 Do you see a man skillful in his work?     He will stand before kings;     he will not stand before obscure men.

A Heart Worth Keeping

Proverbs 4:20-27English Standard Version 20 My son, be attentive to my words;     incline your ear to my sayings. 21 Let them not escape from your sight;     keep them within your heart. 22 For they are life to those who find them,     and healing to all their[a [https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%204%3A20-27&version=ESV#fen-ESV-16513a]] flesh. 23 Keep your heart with all vigilance,     for from it flow the springs of life. 24 Put away from you crooked speech,     and put devious talk far from you. 25 Let your eyes look directly forward,     and your gaze be straight before you. 26 Ponder[b [https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Proverbs%204%3A20-27&version=ESV#fen-ESV-16517b]] the path of your feet;     then all your ways will be sure. 27 Do not swerve to the right or to the left;     turn your foot away from evil.

The Paths of Wisdom and Foolishness | Proverbs 4:10-19 | Pastor Owen Hughes

10 Hear, my son, and accept my words,     that the years of your life may be many. 11 I have taught you the way of wisdom;     I have led you in the paths of uprightness. 12 When you walk, your step will not be hampered,     and if you run, you will not stumble. 13 Keep hold of instruction; do not let go;     guard her, for she is your life. 14 Do not enter the path of the wicked,     and do not walk in the way of the evil. 15 Avoid it; do not go on it;     turn away from it and pass on. 16 For they cannot sleep unless they have done wrong;     they are robbed of sleep unless they have made someone stumble. 17 For they eat the bread of wickedness     and drink the wine of violence. 18 But the path of the righteous is like the light of dawn,     which shines brighter and brighter until full day. 19 The way of the wicked is like deep darkness;     they do not know over what they stumble. - Proverbs 4:10-19 (ESV)

The Foundation of Wisdom | Proverbs 2:1-8/ 3:5-6 | Pastor Owen Hughes

Proverbs 2:1-8 (ESV) 2 My son, if you receive my words     and treasure up my commandments with you, 2 making your ear attentive to wisdom     and inclining your heart to understanding; 3 yes, if you call out for insight     and raise your voice for understanding, 4 if you seek it like silver     and search for it as for hidden treasures, 5 then you will understand the fear of the Lord     and find the knowledge of God. 6 For the Lord gives wisdom;     from his mouth come knowledge and understanding; 7 he stores up sound wisdom for the upright;     he is a shield to those who walk in integrity, 8 guarding the paths of justice     and watching over the way of his saints. Proverbs 3:5-6 (ESV) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart,     and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him,     and he will make straight your paths.
