Additionally, he has held advisory roles for global climate and soil initiatives, including the Federal Advisory Committee on Climate Change and the United Nations Food Systems Summit Science Committee. He has received honorary doctorates from several universities worldwide and is globally recognized as a leading agricultural scientist. He is ranked #1 among agricultural scientists globally, with a high impact in his field, reflected in his inclusion in the World's Most Influential Scientific Minds list and the Highly Cited Researchers list by Clarivate/Thomson Reuters. He was also a lead author for the IPCC and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize Certificate by the IPCC in 2007.
