Growing up in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Maria developed a passion for basketball that would carry her far beyond her hometown. She went on to become one of the most accomplished players in Butler Women's Basketball history, earning multiple All-Horizon League honors while finishing her career among the program's all-time leaders in three-point shooting and scoring. After Butler, her basketball journey continued professionally overseas in Italy, where she gained a new perspective on the game, competition, and personal growth. Those experiences eventually led her into coaching, where she quickly built a reputation for developing players and building winning cultures. Before returning home to Butler, Maria transformed the women's basketball program at Urbana University, leading the Blue Knights to unprecedented success and earning conference Coach of the Year honors along the way. Now, she's back where her journey began—leading the Bulldogs and helping shape the next generation of student-athletes.
