Bipolar Survior Podcast #4 Mental Health Goals, Parenting, and Seeing The Catcher in the Rye in a New Way

In this episode of Bipolar Survivor, I reflect on my mental health and wellness goals for 2026—what I’ve accomplished so far, where I’m still struggling, and how I’m learning to set realistic goals without becoming overwhelmed as a highly sensitive person. I share personal updates about starting therapy, searching for in-person support, improving my technology and marketing skills, and growing this podcast into something meaningful, possibly with future guests. I also talk about one of the most important parts of my mental wellness: being a present, supportive parent and the pride and purpose I feel watching my daughter thrive in sports, cooking, and life. I then revisit The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger, exploring how the story feels completely different when read as an adult. What once seemed like teenage rebellion now reveals deeper themes of grief, depression, isolation, innocence, and the fear of growing up—powerful reminders of how mental health shapes the way we see the world. This episode is a personal reflection on healing, growth, parenting, and finding meaning in everyday life. This podcast is not medical or professional advice—just one survivor sharing his story.
