Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is tell the truth of your story. If you’ve ever gotten lost in a book, or found yourself pouring over pages in your journal, we see you. So many of us struggled to make sense of our pasts or find safe spaces to process our experiences, and we’ve found our way through literature.  In this episode, we’re sitting down with the pioneering author and licensed clinical social worker, Emely Rumble, LCSW to explore the power of a practice we all know but didn’t have a name for: bibliotherapy. In this episode, we explore * How we can use books, writing, and music as paths to feeling, not avoidance of our emotions * Repairing your relationship with stories if we were taught to disown them * Recommendations of stories and practices to help bring bibliotherapy to life Enjoyed the episode? You Deserve to Feel...Confident: The Vulnerability of Believing in Yourself | Natasha Hastings, LPCA

So many of us have strained relationships with confidence and believing in ourselves. We’re often taught that we have both “too much” and “not enough” self-confidence. The tight rope gets tighter, but our inner worlds continue to suffer. Licensed counselor and 2x Olympic Gold medalist Natasha Hastings, LPCA, OLY joins me today to help me talk about how we can practice the vulnerability of believing in yourself. We talk all things self-talk, the vulnerability of being seen AND seeing yourself, and how we can finally root for ourselves in the ways we deserve.  Enjoyed the episode? aflevering feel seen this summer artwork

feel seen this summer

The summer is already a time for fun, adventure, and even exposure. Why not make this summer one where you allow yourself to be seen?  By practicing vulnerability, you allow space for your needs to get met, more intimacy, and more peace by showing up as your true self. Make this the summer you stop hiding by opening up to new practices, focused on light, freedom, and whimsy. In this episode: * We explore how allowing yourself to be seen helps you build a life you love * Areas to practice more vulnerability: in your joy, your finances, your space, your body, in pleasure and in your love * Practical suggestions, both big and small, to help you practice living seen * Reminders to encourage you along the way I look forward to what Summer 2026 has in store for us, and I hope it leaves you feeling a lot more seen, heard, energized, and hopeful. the vulnerability of friendships w/ Joi Britt, LCSW

are you hiding in your friendships? we don’t always focus on our friendships, but they are just as much a site of healing and intimacy as any other relationship, sometimes more.  Yet, we often find ourselves showing up in friendships, in the same protective ways we do in other relationships: hiding our true selves, silencing our voice, shrinking, and ultimately resisting the very practices that help us feel seen. In this episode, licensed therapist and friendship-focused therapist Joi Britt, LCSW joins me to talk about the vulnerability of friendships. Joi Britt, LCSW is the owner of Life Intentionally Psychotherapy Services where she mostly works with women of color to help them live on purpose and with purpose. In addition to individual therapy Joi provides Friendship Coaching based on her French Fry Friendship Theory®. We talk: * The importance of pouring into your friendships * Why we sometimes struggle to feel seen in friendships * The messy side of practicing vulnerability with our friends * Healing from and growing after friendship loss * How to grow your capacity to see and be seen in friendship Enjoyed the episode? healing the mother wound

to the black girl who is living and healing from a mother wound, I see you. If you’ve ever felt hurt, let down, or even harmed by any person who served in a mothering role to you, your pain is valid. So often, so many of us face these experiences, but are left feeling alone because of the pressure to see the Mother as a faultless, blameless entity.  Though everyone deserves grace, you also deserve to be radically honest about what you experienced, what happened, and what did not happen.  This one is for the black girl who ever needed to be believed, to be heard, to be understood when it came to her experiences in a painful mother-daughter dynamic, but was instead met with concessions and dismissals.   This one is for the black girl who ever told her truth, only to be met with, “but that’s your mom.” This is especially for the black girl whose love for her mother is at constant war with the pain you feel as a result of loving her.  I see you, and I hope this episode helps you feel safe enough to explore your pain, hold space for your compassion, and open doors to the healing you need and deserve.  Enjoyed the episode?
