Jason Corbett and his wife Mags just welcomed their second baby when not even two months later, Mags dies tragically from an asthma attack. Jason is left alone with his grief and raising two young children, which leads him to hire an au pair from America, Molly Martens. They very quickly start a relationship. Although there are some cracks that make the relationship seem toxic, the two get engaged and move to North Carolina with the young children.
