BNP Podcast: Behind the News Photographer
This episode is based on the Intern Nights held at San Jose State University in the 1990’s and currently at other photojournalism colleges throughout the country. Each guest on this episode has just finished an internship at either a major newspaper or with a grant for student visual storytellers. First Guest: Marlena Sloss, Growing up In Alaska, Marlena Sloss was introduced to the art of photography by a local nature photographer, but it was her BA in phycology where Sloss became interested in Photojournalism. This Ohio University graduate just finished her internship with the Washington Post and has served as a student representative for the National Press Photographer Association (NPPA). While working with NPPA, Sloss helped revamp the mentoring program between students and working professionals.
