Now he's swerving into satire, and it's a fun, sometimes amusing, sometimes cringe-worthy, very wise story. St. Savior's is the name of a quiet old church badly in need of physical repairs and some spiritual awakening and theological growth. When its long-time pastor died in the pulpit, the search committee didn't do their due diligence, and they ended up with a very liberal pastor on shaky doctrinal ground. Then came a building project, and the church's 100-year anniversary and various financial problems arose and then ... Well, let's just say that this pastor finally had his eyes opened.
