Can you imagine going to court without an attorney? It is unthinkable for most of us, but it happens, often, in the child welfare system in Indiana.   Child Advocates, a nonprofit that serves children who've been placed in the child welfare system in our state due to abuse or neglect, has charted new territory with a groundbreaking legal service.    We are the only organization in Indiana that offers free, in-house attorneys to represent older children in the system and their rights in court. Their alleged abuser has a right to an attorney, but almost every other state in the U.S., except Indiana, ensures that children have counsel, too.   Today, in our Champions of Children Podcast: Removing Barriers.
