Carbohydrate Metabolism - Aerobic & Anaerobic Respiration

A&P 1 level overview of metabolism of carbohydrates including glucose metabolism for the production of ATP. This episode covers glycolysis, the citric acid cycle (Krebs cycle), and the electron transport chain. It also covers anaerobic respiration including lactic acid production and its role in metabolic acidosis and other medical conditions.

This is an introduction to cells and cell structure, starting with the make-up of the plasma membrane (cell membrane). It addresses the movement of particles across the membrane including diffusion, osmosis, passive diffusion and active transport (including secondary active transport).
