Beskrivelse

This week, we’re pulling a fantastic episode from the podcast vault:  Lucy is joined by a group of extraordinary women who recently completed The Great World Race — running 7 marathons on 7 continents in 7 days. It’s hard to believe that Becs Gentry, Jenny Simpson, Chirine Njeim, Hillary Kupish and Ashley Paulson didn’t know each other when they started running, but this experience bonded them like nothing else as they supported each other to and through their limits over the course of the race. With many of them even winning awards for their finish times! In this conversation, Becs, Jenny, Chirine, and Hillary share how they decided to run this race and everything they yielded from making it to the finish line together. We dive deep into the expansive mindset, the grueling reality, and the lasting impacts. They also offer the pearls of wisdom they’re taking away from their once-in-a-lifetime event. episode Michelle Jacobs: The “Shoulds” Women Carry Around Aging, Health & Reinvention cover

Michelle Jacobs: The “Shoulds” Women Carry Around Aging, Health & Reinvention

What happens when you realize the life you built no longer fits who you’re becoming? In this episode of Beyond Should, Lucy sits down with Michelle Jacobs, co-founder and COO of Womaness, to unpack reinvention, women’s health, leadership, and the cultural narratives women inherit around aging. From walking away from corporate life to building a company dedicated to women in midlife, Michelle shares what it looked like to stop seeking approval, trust her instincts, and create something entirely new. Together, they explore why so many women feel disconnected from their bodies, the lack of education around perimenopause and menopause, and why midlife can become a powerful season of clarity, confidence, and reinvention. They also discuss women and risk-taking, investing in women-led businesses, and the importance of taking up more space. More about Michelle:  Michelle Jacobs is Co-Founder and COO of Womaness, a brand changing the conversation around aging, midlife, and menopause through clinically and doctor-tested products that address symptoms from hot flashes to sleep to fine lines. Womaness is available on Womaness.com, Amazon, and Ulta Beauty. A strategic development leader, Michelle spent 20 years building brands before co-founding Womaness — spanning sales, partnerships, licensing, logistics, and financial management across categories from home and décor to health and baby. She began her career in licensing, then led client relationships for Polo Ralph Lauren and Lancôme at a digital media agency. After earning her MBA, she marketed billion-dollar brands like Centrum and Advil to retailers ranging from corner bodegas to Costco. Michelle later spent a decade at Time Inc., launching the licensing and retail business for Real Simple, Cooking Light, and InStyle with partners including Target, Bed Bath & Beyond, and Crate & Barrel. She was then recruited by QVC/HSN to lead the retail rollout for the Joy Mangano brand — yes, inventor of the Miracle Mop. episode Should I Keep Climbing? Leadership Lessons from HBO Max’s Sarah Aubrey cover

Should I Keep Climbing? Leadership Lessons from HBO Max’s Sarah Aubrey

Sarah Aubrey has spent her career helping shape some of television’s most talked-about stories — from producing films like Bad Santa to leading original programming at HBO Max. But in this conversation, we go beyond Hollywood and into the deeper question many ambitious professionals face: What happens when achievement stops feeling like the goal? Sarah shares candid insights about leadership, navigating industry disruption, mentoring teams, and why she stopped chasing titles in favor of building a career aligned with what actually brings her joy. We talk about the confidence gap between men and women, how to lead through uncertainty, and why expanding your sandbox can be more powerful than constantly jumping to the next one. … Show Notes:  * Sarah’s book recommendation: Pema Chödrön - Comfortable with Uncertainty  [https://pemachodronfoundation.org/product/comfortable-with-uncertainty-book/] More about Sarah:  Working with the best storytellers from around the world, Aubrey is focused on broadening HBO Max's audience with a range of breakthrough programming. Her slate includes the Emmy-winning titles THE PITT (Best Drama Series) and HACKS (Best Comedy Series), Golden Globe and Emmy-decorated THE PENGUIN, and hits like AND JUST LIKE THAT..., PEACEMAKER, DUNE: PROPHECY, and IT: WELCOME TO DERRY. She is also overseeing the highly anticipated HARRY POTTER series, which is currently in production in the UK. Previously, she developed the critically acclaimed Max Originals LOVE & DEATH, STATION ELEVEN, THE FLIGHT ATTENDANT, SCAVENGERS REIGN, and THE STAIRCASE along with comedies like THE SEX LIVES OF COLLEGE GIRLS, OUR FLAG MEANS DEATH, STARSTRUCK, and more.
