episode Ephesians 5:22-33 | Gospel-Shaped Marriages cover

Description

Pastor Josh teaches from Ephesians 5:22–33 that marriage is designed by God to display the gospel—the relationship between Christ and His church. Wives are called to a voluntary posture of respect and submission to their own husbands, as unto the Lord. Husbands are called to Christlike love that is sacrificial, sanctifying (aimed at spiritual good), and tender, never harsh or abusive. The message ends by pointing to Jesus as the source of forgiveness and power for imperfect spouses so their marriages can “tell the truth” about the gospel.

Genesis 1:1-31 | In the Beginning, God

Pastor Josh introduces Genesis 1 as the opening of a larger story of redemption, emphasizing that the Bible is ultimately about God and points to Jesus from beginning to end.   It argues that the main question of Genesis is not modern debates about origins, but who made the world, how He made it, and why—namely, that the one true God created all things by His powerful Word, bringing order, beauty, and life out of chaos.   The message also connects creation to Christ, presenting Jesus as the eternal Word through whom all things were made and through whom God brings new creation and salvation.   Finally, it says God created the world for His glory and out of His grace, inviting listeners to worship Him, see His handiwork in creation, and trust Him to bring light and renewal into their lives.
