episode Summer Self-Care for Sensitive & Overstimulated Souls cover

Description

There's so much pressure to have the perfect summer body, the hot girl summer, the 10-step routine and honestly? I want to offer something different. In this episode, I'm talking about what summertime self-care actually looks like when we remove the pressure and just tune in to what we actually need. Not just rest, not just hustle but real, feel-good care that moves with the season. Because summer is also a time of overstimulation. Long days, social events, heat, all the things and if you've been feeling more tired, agitated, or just a little off lately, this one's for you. I break it down into three areas (body, mind, and soul) and share the real things I personally do to stay grounded and nourished when summer starts to feel like too much. We talk about: * The case for a slow living summer * Signs you might be more dysregulated than you realize * How I think about self-care for body, mind, and soul in the summer * Why joy and play are just as restorative as rest * What I'm actually doing this summer to feel good No extreme routines. No pressure. Just a gentler, more aligned way to actually enjoy the season. What's making me cozy this week: s'mores. Always s'mores. 🤍 Connect with Chelsea: Free Cozy Guide to Aligned Living [https://cozywithchelsea.myflodesk.com/alignedguide] Work 1:1 With Me - Free Consult [https://www.cozywithchelsea.com/consultation] TikTok: @cozywithchelsea [https://www.tiktok.com/@cozywithchelsea] Instagram: @cozywchelsea [https://www.instagram.com/cozywchelsea/] Youtube: @cozywithchelsea [https://www.youtube.com/@cozywithchelsea] Substack: @cozywithchelsea [https://substack.com/@cozywithchelsea]

Human Design: How to Stop Working Against Your Energy and Start Living in Alignment

Have you ever felt like you just don't have enough energy — like everyone else got a longer battery life than you did? That used to be me. And once I discovered Human Design, everything shifted. Not because I suddenly had more energy, but because I finally understood how my energy actually works. In this episode, I'm breaking down Human Design for beginners — specifically the five energy types and what they mean for how you work, rest, and make moves in your life. Whether you're brand new to Human Design or not, we're going deep on each type so there's something here for you. We cover: * What Human Design actually is (and the ancient + modern systems it pulls from) * All five energy types: Manifestor, Generator, Manifesting Generator, Projector, and Reflector * The strategy for each type and why living out of alignment with yours is probably why you feel so drained * Not-self themes: the emotions that show up as a signal you're off track * The difference between sacral and non-sacral energy (and why hustle culture is literally designed for one type) * How I use Human Design inside my Alignment Blueprint with clients I'm a Projector, and I share what that's looked like in my own life including the bitterness that showed up when I was doing it wrong, and what it feels like to finally stop pushing and start waiting for the invitation. If you don't know your Human Design type yet, go take a free quiz before you listen!! Your Nervous System Was Never Meant to Be This Busy

There's a reason you feel different after a walk outside - and in this episode, I'm getting into exactly why. I've always known that being outside makes me feel better. I feel it on my morning walks, I feel it when I sit near trees, I feel it the second I step outside instead of sitting at my computer. But I wanted to actually understand what's happening in the body, so I did the research and honestly, the science is wild. We're talking about what's really going on with your nervous system when you're in nature, why your eyes are literally hardwired to find fractal patterns in trees calming, what forest bathing does to your immune cells (the NK cell study genuinely stopped me), and why barefoot on grass isn't just a vibe - it's measurable. I also share what I think is the deeper truth underneath all of it: you don't need to go be in nature. You are nature. Returning to it is really just coming home. Plus I share a simple weekly prescription - nothing extreme, nothing that requires a wellness retreat - just what the research actually shows is enough to move the needle on cortisol and HRV. Studies I reference: * Forest exposure reduces cortisol, pulse rate, and blood pressure — Environmental Health and Preventive Medicine review via Forest Therapy Hub [https://foresttherapyhub.com/news/nervoussystem/] * Forest bathing, NK cell activity, and parasympathetic dominance — Forest Bathing and Preventive Medicine, PMC/MDPI 2026 [https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC12921901/] * 50% increase in NK cells from a 3-day forest bathing trip (Li et al., 2010) — Forest Therapy and Immune Function, MDPI [https://www.mdpi.com/1660-4601/18/16/8440] * Fractal patterns in nature reduce stress by up to 60% — Richard Taylor, University of Oregon via Smithsonian [https://www.smithsonianmag.com/innovation/fractal-patterns-nature-and-art-are-aesthetically-pleasing-and-stress-reducing-180962738/] * Natural sounds improve vagal tone and HRV — Nature and the Nervous System, Forest Therapy Hub [https://foresttherapyhub.com/news/nervoussystem/] Connect with Chelsea: Free Cozy Guide to Aligned Living [https://cozywithchelsea.myflodesk.com/alignedguide] Work 1:1 With Me - Free Consult [https://www.cozywithchelsea.com/consultation] TikTok: @cozywithchelsea [https://www.tiktok.com/@cozywithchelsea] Instagram: @cozywchelsea [https://www.instagram.com/cozywchelsea/] Youtube: @cozywithchelsea [https://www.youtube.com/@cozywithchelsea] Substack: @cozywithchelsea [https://substack.com/@cozywithchelsea]

Slowing Down as a Revolutionary Path to Moving Forward

The beautiful irony of life is that sometimes doing the exact opposite of what you think you should do just might produce the results you want. Today on the pod, we're talking about: Why choosing to slow down is the most powerful thing you can do to move forward. Why rest is vital for a healthy, balanced, and productive life. What "slowing down" actually looks like for you. How slowing doing allows for the space to be creative. How to raise your vibration so you can tap into your intuition and inner knowing.
