Madagascar with Mia and Bao

My wonderful friend Mia and her soul sister Bao teach me all about the food of Madagascar. This is the first time I am hearing of this cuisine. It is very unique that I'm pretty sure there isn't a local Malagasy restaurant around the DMV area but you never know when it might just pop up somewhere! Interview with my great uncle

Here is my interview with my great uncle, Uncle Honor joined by several others from the fam. Uncle Honor is a man of a few words but is well traveled and has many stories to share. His late wife, Auntie Setsuko was Japanese so I was curious what it was like for them to have Japanese and Filipino cuisine in one household. He has hosted many Thanksgivings for our family and is known for his “special” gravy so I had to ask what is his secret. Stay tuned for that surprise. Thanks for listening!
