As a refresher, Robertson is a restricted free agent who needs a new contract. The Stars have reportedly offered 8 years at $12 million annually, which is the Mikko Rantanen deal. Robertson is reportedly looking for around $14 million annually. Dallas would need to free up cap room to do either number. If another team signs Robertson to a deal and Dallas doesn’t match, they get four first-round picks to be awarded over the next five drafts.
