From searching for tortillas and peppers to replacing ingredients like lime and avocado, the process became part of the experience. Even preparing something as familiar as food felt completely new. The result wasn’t just about the dish, it was about the moment: watching a game together, talking, laughing, and creating a space that felt like home, even thousands of kilometers away. Mexico City -> Coyoacán: I visited Viveros the day before they shut it down

I went to Viveros on a Monday morning with the sky about to break. I did the full loop, walked through the flower market, and made my way to the Centro, not knowing that a few days later the park would be closed due to flooding and risk of tree collapse. Coyoacán is massive, and what most people know is just a fraction of it. On this walk I found things I remembered, some things that were no longer there, and a city that can change completely from one day to the next.
