The glory and grit of thru hiking with type-1 diabetes

'Playing an organ for your child': the challenges of managing T1D in a toddler

A mom shares the struggles and successes of raising a toddler with type-1 diabetes. "A whole crew of people came in and immediately started trying to get an IV into her. They wanted to give her a shot, were checking her blood sugars and in that moment I just said – STOP! – what’s happening, somebody needs to talk to me because 30 minutes ago I was in her nursery and now I’m in the emergency room holding her down as you try to stick needles into her body.
