Controlling the mind simply means not allowing the mind to be a runaway train. We can learn to get control of the mind by questioning what the mind is offering and taking away the mind's audience. Who's the audience? Ourselves. The mind wants an audience and you're it, so when you take that away the mind will change the subject to try to get your attention. In this episode we'll talk about all the ways to do that and what happens next. If you have a mind on autopilot, this episode is for you! Have a question you'd like answered in a future episode? Send me a message by clicking the link [https://dyitpodcast.com]! Join me over on Patreon [https://www.patreon.com/dyitpodcast]. We're going to be talking about each episode on a private Discord server. Have questions about something I said in an episode? This is your place to get answers. See you there! If you enjoyed the episode please like, share, and subscribe. it really does help me reach more people! ---------------------------------------- Hosted on Acast. The Stories We Tell

The mind loves to make up a good story because it keeps you distracted from being able to heal the trauma. It's not that the mind wants to hurt you. The mind is just trying to protect you from more pain by keeping you insulated using the existing pain. In this episode, I'm talking about the stories of blame, shame, guilt, and victimization. I'm sharing why we do these things to ourselves and how to stop. This is a look inside the process that I've used to heal myself from a lot of the powerlessness that I experienced. If you're stuck in the story of it, this is the episode for you. If you would like to support this podcast, come and join me on Patreon!
