The rise in cortisol from scale anxiety alone is enough to stifle your progress! Here are 11 reasons why you shouldn’t weigh yourself: 1. Water weight Some people can lose up to 11 pounds of water weight in just 2 days! Initial water weight loss can cause unrealistic expectations. Most people only lose 1 to 2 pounds per week. 2. Salt Salty foods can cause you to retain fluid, especially if you’re consuming them with sugar. 3. Hormones A woman’s menstrual cycle can often cause weight-loss fluctuations of around 3 to 7 pounds. A rise in cortisol can also prevent weight loss. 4. Location of fat The worst type of fat is visceral fat, which accumulates around the organs. If you don’t see weight loss right away, you could be losing some of the more dangerous types of fat first. 5. Muscle loss or gain Losing muscle isn’t healthy! Your weight may be decreasing, but it could also be accompanied by serious side effects. Similarly, muscle weighs more than fat, so you won’t see weight loss if you’re building muscle. 6. Myxedema This type of fat is often found in people with hypothyroidism and is difficult to eliminate with diet and exercise alone. 7. Poor sleep One week of poor sleep can increase insulin resistance! Poor sleep leads to snacking, increased visceral fat, lower testosterone levels, and higher cortisol and stress levels. 8. Ozempic People lose weight with Ozempic, but typically regain it when they discontinue use. Around 20% to 40% of this weight loss is attributed to muscle loss. 9. Microdamage from exercise Overtraining breaks down your muscles. Edema and swelling can cause your weight to increase after exercise. 10. Medication Medications such as calcium channel blockers can cause weight gain. 11. Constipation Fiber intake and constipation can affect the number on the scale. Stop weighing yourself and focus on these healthy weight-loss tips instead: 1. Waist-to-height ratio 2. Fasting insulin 3. Appetite decreases 4. Tiny amounts of carbs can block fat burning 5. Fix insulin resistance Insulin resistance is the root cause of many chronic diseases. Fixing it is the key to getting healthy and losing weight. Cancer is a heterogeneous disease, which means there are many different types. Understanding how cancer works is key to cancer prevention. Cancer tends to spread to areas of inflammation and to regions in the body where oxygen is scarce. Cancer is constantly evading your immune system! Vitamin D is essential for the health and proper functioning of your immune system. Cancer cells tend to block the receptors for vitamin D to combat this. It's beneficial to increase your vitamin D levels to penetrate the resistance created by cancer. Understanding which fuel a specific cancer uses is key to starving cancer. The majority of cancers utilize glucose and glutamine as their primary sources of fuel. Some cancers live on lipids and BCAAs, and some can even live on ketones! Cancer is highly adaptive, so effective cancer prevention requires multiple strategies, including diet rotation and intermittent fasting. Different types of cancer require the removal of different foods from the diet. Rotating the diet and removing the fuel that a specific type of cancer needs to survive prevents cancer from growing and taking over. Healthy Keto paired with intermittent fasting is the best diet for cancer prevention. Prolonged fasting is one of the best things you can do if you have cancer. Although some cancers can survive on ketones, ketones from fasting do not feed cancer cells. To prevent cancer and support the immune system, keep your blood levels of vitamin D at around 90-100 ng/mL. Incorporate regular exercise and prioritize both intermittent and prolonged fasting. RFK Jr. did not say that Tylenol causes autism, but that it could be a contributing factor that can influence susceptible people to develop autism. He has raised awareness of this link and has called for further research. Tylenol is used for fevers, headaches, pain, menstrual cramps, and more. Most people think it doesn't have many side effects, but it’s the leading cause of acute liver failure. Over 80,000 people each year end up in the ER because of too much acetaminophen. Tylenol’s active ingredient depletes glutathione and is found in over 600 medications. A fever is a natural immune reaction to an infection, and suppressing this can increase the infection’s duration. There are multiple causes of autism. One involves a genetic component with the MTHFR gene, which weakens your ability to detoxify and increases your risk of a folate deficiency. Leucovorin is a synthetic folate derivative recommended for some instances of autism. This medication could be beneficial and may provide optimal results if taken with B12, B2, B6, magnesium, and zinc. One study found that between 56% and 75% of those with autism had a folate deficiency! In another trial, synthetic folate boosted IQs by 25% to 50% compared to the placebo. Independent research is needed to explore the vaccine link to autism. Today, I’m going to share the best stretch for your psoas muscle. The psoas muscle connects the upper part of your body with the lower part. A tight psoas muscle can lead to low back pain, poor posture, and problems with the hips. Problems with the psoas muscle can make it difficult to: • Get out of bed  • Stand from a seated position • Walk and run  • Have good posture  • Keep a low back curve  • Climb stairs When the psoas is too tight, it affects a lot of other muscles, and those muscles start to compensate. Typically, a person will have a tighter psoas muscle on one side more than the other side. It’s very important to fix that and keep the psoas symmetrical. This simple psoas stretch that I’m going to show you will also help you strengthen and stabilize this muscle. I think it’s going to give you a lot of relief. Over the course of two to three weeks of doing this stretch, you’ll find that when you walk, your pelvis, hips, and gait are more free and open. You’ll also notice that your low back pain is much better, your hips are less tight, and your low back curve is in a good position.
